Phoenix Children’s has an immediate opening in our Patient Placement Unit! This is a PRN position, and we are looking for someone who can work approximately one shift a week. You will be triaging calls from providers and other hospitals from around Arizona, and the country for the specialty care that only Phoenix Children’s can offer! The successful candidate will have a solid background/experience working in a critical care unit, ICU, PICU, CVICU or ED. Must have outstanding critical thinking skills to assess the needs when speaking with providers/hospitals on the type of care they are needing. Exceptional PC skills are a necessity as you will be navigating three screens at any time and accessing/using 6 computer programs to determine if Phoenix Children’s has the skills needed, beds, and care needed for the patient. You will be working either an 8- or 12-hour shift, alongside a dedicated team of nurses who are passionate about the unique care we can offer patients across the country. This position is accountable for coordination and acceptance of information regarding direct admissions and transfers to Phoenix Children`s Hospital. Responsibilities also include coordinating all aspects of patient placement within the facilities, and partnering with nursing and other clinical operation departments to facilitate patient access, throughput, and capacity.
