The City of Chandler Police Department, Intelligence Analysis Unit is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Tactical Crime and Intelligence Analyst. This is a full-time, exempt position with benefits. The Tactical Crime and Intelligence Analystswork a 4/10 schedule but may be required to work various schedules which include days, swings, nights, weekends and holidays. The position is regular full-time, subject to a six (6) month probationary period.

The City of Chandler Police Department, consisting of 362 sworn officers and 177 civilians, serves a growing population of close to 287,945 residents. The organization is divided into three main divisions, one bureau, and many sections/units. Who we are looking for

Our ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. This position performs a variety of crime and intelligence analysis activities, including collection, analysis and dissemination and other relevant information in support of the Police Department. We are looking for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment; and, the successful candidate must be able to do the following:


* Conduct tactical crime analysis; queries, cleans, and processes crime and intelligence data; analyzes data to identify series, patterns, sprees, and hotspots;
* Prepare and delivers clear, concise intelligence products including bulletins, briefings, charts, and reports for department personnel and partner agencies
* Work closely with investigators on crime series and patterns, makes recommendations regarding allocations of resources based on analysis, and develops investigative leads.
* Provide training for officers and detectives on how to best utilize databases and analytical software.
* Prepare maps, charts and graphs related to crime series and patterns.
* Assist investigators and analysts from within and outside the City; responds to internal and external inquiries.
* Regularly attends patrol briefings to understand what issues are being observed in the field and to present any intelligence that is relevant to their area of focus.
* Prepare association charts depicting links between subjects, vehicles, locations, incidents, and more.
* Assume the primary analyst role for major incidents occurring in the department.
* Assist in the development and creation of new analytical and intelligence capabilities within the unit and department.

Minimum qualifications


* A Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Criminal Justice or related field; and
* Must have at least 2-years of experience performing tactical and/or intelligence crime analysis in a law enforcement setting which includes compiling data, analyzing findings and writing reports; and
* Must attain a DPS Level B Terminal Operator Certification within six (6) months of hire or promotion; and
* Must possess a valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record; or
* Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Supervision

Work is performed under the supervision of the Crime Analysis Supervisor. This position does not supervise others.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits, with a varied work schedule. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
