Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer in Technology as part of the Chief Data Office Technology.

We are seeking a deeply technical Principal Engineer to lead the technical product roadmap for Data Private Cloud(DPC). Data Private Cloud is the strategic on premises Data and Analytics Lakehouse platform to support Wells Fargo on premises data engineering and analytical use cases. This role is an enterprise level role responsible for building and leading an on-prem target state strategic platform. The main purpose of this role is to provide a simplified on-premises data environment on a modern data platform as we retired Legacy Hadoop. You’ll be a part of a huge transformation into the world of digital data centers! We need someone who has done this kind of work prior and knows large platform design, how to build a solid technical roadmap and has done full implementation.
**In this role, you will:**
+ Lead Platform roadmap and engineering for DPC. Design, develop and obtain buy from leadership and stakeholders of the DPC technical strategy.
+ Lead the design of Apache Opensource framework (Hadoop, Spark, Ranger, etc), IceBerg, Object Store based solution. Requires in depth knowledge in network, information security, database, and operating systems as well as advance analytical tooling and frameworks.
+ Design and lead the technical product road map of a highly complex business and technical platform to support multiple CIOs within Wells Fargo. Lead in-depth evaluation across multiple areas of the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
+ Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
+ Provide vision, direction, and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
+ Leverage your vast industry knowledge of best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
+ Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
+ Provide solution architecture and thought leadership to Platform engineering team. Drive data analytical Solution architecture to deliver complex data intensive enterprise-wide technology solutions
**Required Qualifications, US:**
+ 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
**Desired Qualifications:**
+ 10+ years of experience leading the engineering and delivery of complex enterprise-wide information technology data warehousing and/or analytical platforms
+ 10+ years of Apache Hadoop tools such as Spark, Hive, Kafka and Map and Other Apache Opensource frameworks.
+ 6+ years of experience in implementing OpenShift Clusters and Solutions. Demonstrable Experience in Infrastructure as a Code
+ 6+ years of experience in architecting and solutioning a large-scale Analytical Platform, demonstratable experience using open source frameworks.
+ 15+ years of software engineering experience
+ 10+ years of Linux experience
+ 10+ years of data warehouse experience
+ 5+ years of database experience with at least two of the following platforms: Informix, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Progress
**Pay Range**
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$144,400.00 - $300,000.00
