**About this role:**
Wells Fargo’s Consumer Lending Technology (CLT) group executes the Wells Fargo Technology strategy and offers a strategic technology perspective to the lines of business (LOBs) we support. These LOBs include Auto; Card, Retail & Merchant Services; Home Lending; and Personal Loans within Consumer Lending. Our teams provide technology solutions to the LOBs and manage the application portfolios through the enablers of skills, stability, security, scalability, speed, and satisfaction.
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to work in our Consumer Lending Technology - Engineering team. The candidate will be actively engaged in architecture, design, and development of Microservice frameworks and Consumer lending applications.
In this role, you will be building out backend platform, implementing new tools, work on important and new modernization. This is an opportunity to produce immediate impact by leveraging your strengths and past experience while learning new things.
We are keenly interested in high energy people with a passion to build Developer Experience Development platform and Cloud Enablement platform to be used across 800+ Home, Auto, Credit, and Personal lending applications.
**In this role, you will:**
+ Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
+ Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
+ Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
+ Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
+ Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
+ Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
+ Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
**Required Qualifications:**
+ 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
+ 5+ years of Java experience
+ 3+ years of microservices development experience
**Desired Qualifications:**
+ A Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science
+ 3+ years of experience working with Relationship Database Management Systems (RDBMS) such as SQL Server, Oracle or MySQL
+ 5+ years of experience with Spring, Spring Batch, Spring Boot, Hibernate
+ 2+ years of Agile experience
+ 2+ years of MongoDB experience or another NoSQL Database
+ 3+ years of microservices development experience
+ 3+ years of experience building cloud-ready enterprise solutions in one or a combination of the following: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF)
+ 2+ years of experience with Apache Kafka or Confluent Enterprise
+ Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
+ Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
+ JavaScript programming language experience
+ Experience with In-memory databases
