**Responsibilities**
The incumbent will support Business Continuity and Emergency Management operations, special projects, risk assessments, planning, training and exercise development and delivery. Majority of time is spent in independent activity in development, design, implementation, facilitation, and coordination of appropriate institutional, organizational and departmental business continuity plans. Plans, coordinates, and conducts exercises to test work area preparedness. Assists with larger scale exercises as directed. Makes presentations to a variety of Mayo Clinic staff at all levels. Acts as liaison, advocate, proponent and consultant on business continuity, emergency preparedness, risk mitigation, event response and recovery to Mayo Clinic staff at all levels and to external clients as directed. Supports departmental strategy and philosophy centered on organizational resilience and stakeholder preparedness. Investigates incidents and makes recommendations to work areas and Departments to improve work practices, increase preparedness and reduce risks. Generates records and reports, interprets data and implements new programs. Monitors compliance with governmental regulations and coordinates, organizes and develops policies as requested. Develops and implements new procedural protocols, educational curriculum, program objectives, competencies and maintains regulatory documentation of programs. Must maintain strict confidentiality of information. Performs other job duties as required.

**Qualifications**
Requires Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, Emergency Management or related field and 2 years' experience in healthcare business continuity or related discipline.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team. Experience should include leadership, team building, and problem-solving skills as well as a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders. Must have strong communication (both verbal and written), organizational, public speaking and human relation skills. Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing work schedules, tasking and environment. Must have knowledge of computer systems and ability to use routine computer software packages (word processing, spreadsheets, and databases). Knowledge of health care organizations/systems, The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and other health care standards related to Emergency Management and Business Continuity is helpful. Master's degree preferred.
**Licensure or Certification:**
Certificate of the Business Continuity Institute (CBCI) or Certified Business continuity Planner (CBCP) required within 2 years of employment. Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), Master Exercise Practitioner (MEP), Certified Healthcare Provider Continuity Professional will be highly regarded. Must maintain CBCI/CBCP in good standing during employment.
International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or Association of Healthcare Emergency Preparedness Professionals (AHEPP) Healthcare Emergency Manager-Professional (HcEM-B) is preferred.

$82,555.20 - $115,606.40 / year. Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
