We are looking for a strong candidate who will play a fundamental role in the support of data sources and outputs within the Amex GBT big data environment, and support of the Hotel Growth Initiatives. The Business Analyst will also need an overall understanding of general business processes and commercial perspectives and have a passion for supporting big data capabilities that will be used to create new BI predictive analytics and visualization capabilities.

**What You'll Do:**

+ Support end to end data platform initiatives from business engagement to technology deployment across

+ Translate customer and business value statements into technical specifications and capabilities

+ Coordinate between Amex GBT business stakeholders and technology partners to understand complex business needs, data requirements and then translate requirements into effective data content usable in reporting, visualization, and actionable insights

+ Manage information gathering efforts with initial source of record partners

+ Interact with technology partners and business stakeholders and users through concise and accurate communications

+ Design, develop, and enhance automated and manual test scripts to drive quality and efficiency.

+ Detect and triage software defects and inconsistencies, managing them to resolution.

+ Conduct smoke tests on releases to ensure top-notch quality reaches the production environment.

**What We're Looking For:**

+ 3+ years experience with business analysis /data capabilities / business intelligence / management information

+ MUST have strong and seasoned experience with SQL

+ 3+ years experience in the travel industry is preferred, particularly the hotel sector and Global Distribution Systems (GDS) like Sabre, Amadeus, or Travelport.

+ Experience with both automated and manual testing techniques in an Agile development environment

+ Familiarity with design and development of data warehouse/data mart schemas and ETL processes will be a plus

+ Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills

+ Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and focus on quality

+ Aptitude to solve complex problems by analyzing variables and applying appropriate solutions

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

+ Ability to collaborate and influence across a fast-paced and dynamic environment to achieve results, often progressing multiple competing priorities.

+ Highly organized with ability to keep projects moving forward and run from start to finish

+ Must be results driven, taking the lead with little supervision as well as working closely with fellow team members in a small team

+ Ability to work against tight deadlines with colleagues across the world

+ MUST be ready to work during overlap hours with global teams.

**Location**

United States

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $50,000 to $100,000. The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
