**Job Summary**
The Senior UX Engineer collaborates with product, design, and engineering teams to define user experience requirements and translate them into intuitive, user-centered solutions for new software or applications. This individual will make high-level decisions to shape the user experience, maintaining a holistic view of the product to create cohesive and innovative UX strategies that guide the development team. They will design user interfaces, conduct user research, and develop a unified vision for usability, accessibility, and interaction design. The Senior UX Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to lead the design, prototyping, and implementation of user interfaces, ensuring the organization delivers seamless, impactful digital experiences that align with the ever-evolving digital landscape.
**Job Details/Responsibilities**
+ Utilize design tools and methodologies (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) to create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity representations of user interfaces for desired products.
+ Develop high-level UX specifications with a focus on usability, accessibility, and seamless integration with product and technical requirements.
+ Define all aspects of the user experience, including interaction flows, visual design standards, and accessibility guidelines.
+ Effectively communicate UX concepts, design rationales, and guidelines to cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and designers.
+ Oversee the progress of the design and development teams to ensure consistency with the initial UX vision and design system.
+ Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers and front-end developers on UX best practices and implementation.
+ Ensure user interfaces meet high standards for usability, accessibility (WCAG compliance), responsiveness, and user satisfaction.
+ Document UX strategies, design systems, and interaction patterns for team reference and scalability.
+ Approve final user interfaces before launch, ensuring alignment with user needs and business goals.
+ Design, prototype, and deliver intuitive, user-centered solutions that address complex user and business requirements.
+ Proactively stay updated on emerging UX trends, tools, and technologies, including mobile-first design, inclusive design, and modern front-end frameworks.
+ Lead collaborative design sessions, facilitating workshops to define user journeys, application behavior, and visual aesthetics.
+ Diagnose complex usability issues through user testing, analytics, and feedback, recommending and implementing optimal solutions.
+ Review product requirements and collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure designs deliver exceptional functionality, features, and user experiences.
+ Develop, refine, and enhance user interfaces to support new or existing business initiatives.
+ Influence product design by recommending UX improvements and requirements to enhance user engagement and satisfaction.
+ Create and iterate on designs that meet production requirements, anticipate usability challenges, and align with technical constraints.
**Working Conditions/Physical Requirements**
This position exists in an office environment. Approximately 10-20% overnight travel is required.
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)**
+ Ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to developers, managers, and less technical colleagues.
+ Demonstrated understanding of front-end web application development, including Angular/NG, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and associated technologies (build systems, cloud-based environments, full-stack architectures, JSON, HL7, etc.).
+ Knowledge of schema design for both transactional and report instances.
+ Knowledge of relational databases as well as ORM and SQL technologies.
+ Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, and content management systems.
+ Web application development experience with multiple frameworks.
+ Advanced Microsoft Excel user (e.g. array formulas, creating/modifying macros, advanced formulas ).
+ Proven ability to document design processes, including development, tests, analytics, and troubleshooting.
+ Strong scripting and test automation abilities.
+ Ability to learn and apply knowledge to job responsibilities.
**Qualifications/ Background Experiences**
+ Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or information technology and minimum 8 years’ experience with 2 of those years in system architecture, 6 year engineering software and network platforms,8 years C# angular required or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience.
+ Minimum of 7 years of related work in healthcare, hospital systems and/or payer preferred.
+ Experience designing interactive applications and networking platforms required.
+ Experience serving as the technical lead on multiple high impact and high visibility projects preferred.
+ Experience mentoring senior engineers on designing and implementing challenging projects preferred.
+ Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure) and cloud native solutions preferred.
