**The Opportunity**

In this role, you will have the opportunity to participate in engineering and design of the HVAC and plumbing systems in various types of facilities. \#LI-JR4

The HVAC Team is engaged in the following:

+ Design and Construction Activities

+ Project Delivery Methods - Traditional Design-Bid-Build and Alternative Conceptual-Bid-Build.

+ Facility Types – Power Generation buildings, Substations, Oil & Gas structures and Energy Storage buildings.

+ Systems – HVAC and Plumbing.

+ Type of Areas – Power Generation Hall, Administrative, Warehouse, Maintenance, Workshop, Laboratory, Chemical Storage & Handling, Electrical Distribution Center, Low & Medium Voltage Switchgear, Pump Areas, Engine Generator, Blowers/Air Compressors, and Flammable & Combustible Liquids Storage.

+ Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

**Studies**

+ Energy Audit/Efficiency - Engineering studies, system performance reviews, and energy compliance calculations

+ Code Review/Application - Facility review for code compliance

+ Sustainable Design/LEED - Application of sustainable strategies

**The Team**

The **Mechanical Buildings Design Group** provides HVAC and plumbing solutions for Black & Veatch’s3 market sectors- Governments & Environment, Energy & Process Industries, and Connectivity & Commercial. In in this role, you will be engaged with exciting projects across the globe. **Preferred Qualifications**

Basic knowledge of the following areas:

+ NFPA standards

+ Computer generated HVAC Heatloads, energy modeling and HVAC equipment sizing

+ Technical Submittal reviewing process Bid reviewing process

+ Microsoft Office Suite

+ Bluebeam Revu

+ Person needs to be a LEED AP certified professional experienced in obtaining LEED’s certification for industrial buildings.

+ Extensive experience with large-scale water-cooled chillers is preferred.

+ International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes

+ ASHRAE Handbooks / Standards

+ ASPE design handbooks

+ SMACNA Standards

**Minimum Qualifications**

+ Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing

+ Minimum of 1 year related work experience

+ All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

**Certifications**

Professional Engineering (PE) License

**Work Environment/Physical Demands**
