We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Tax Preparer specializing in estate and trust tax preparation. This role offers a direct placement opportunity with hybrid flexibility after the initial training period. You will be responsible for preparing various federal and state fiduciary income tax returns, assisting with estate and trust administration, and providing accurate tax planning advice to clients.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare federal and state fiduciary income tax returns, including Form 1041, Form 706, Form 709, and related forms and schedules.

+ Assist with estate and trust administration, including gathering financial data, tracking distributions, and finalizing deceased individuals’ tax affairs.

+ Research and interpret tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide accurate tax planning advice to clients.

+ Collaborate with attorneys, trustees, executors, and beneficiaries to collect necessary information and resolve outstanding issues.

+ Maintain accurate records, monitor filing deadlines, and manage workflow to ensure timely completion of all assignments.

+ Stay current on tax law changes and industry trends through continuing education and professional development.

+ Communicate effectively with clients regarding documentation needs, filing status, and tax planning opportunities.

+ Support developing and implementing client-specific tax strategies, including gifting, charitable contributions, and fiduciary distributions.

+ Ensure all work meets the firm’s quality standards and complies with relevant regulations and internal procedures.

Essential Skills

+ 3-5+ years of public accounting tax experience.

+ Proficiency in estate finance, tax preparation, and entity work.

+ Experience with tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.

+ Experience with Forms 1041, 706, and 709.

+ Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent designation preferred but not required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.

+ Proficiency with Thomson Reuters, CCH Axcess, or similar platforms.

+ Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

+ Spanish speaker is a bonus.
