We are seeking an Electrical I&C Designer/Engineer to join our team in Tempe. Responsibilities

+ Design electrical systems and prepare construction documents with varying degrees of complexity.

+ Work with power, lighting, and distribution systems as well as heat trace and semiconductor manufacturing equipment installations.

+ Perform I&C design, including specifying instruments appropriate for the process system and hazardous classification.

+ Create and update point management databases, develop instrument tagging nomenclature, and design new PLC panels and networking.

+ Design low voltage systems, including telecommunications, life safety, and security systems.

+ Prepare engineering studies for power and low voltage systems that survey existing conditions, evaluate capacities, and make recommendations for corrections and upgrades.

+ Coordinate with other engineering team members, including those from other technical disciplines.

+ Conduct site investigations to confirm and document field conditions.

+ Program control systems (PLC, DCS, and/or DDC) and configure SCADA systems.

+ Configure field devices including VFDs, instruments, and OEM devices.

+ Engage in technical writing for engineering documents.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum of 8 years of experience as an independent designer/engineer.

+ Experience with advanced technology and industrial clients.

+ BSEE or equivalent degree is a plus.

+ Possession of EIT certification or PE registration is a plus.

+ Proficiency in design and electrical engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, or EasyPower.

+ Ability to program PLC/DCS and configure SCADA systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in process and hydronic system design.

+ HVAC and tool install experience is a plus.

+ A chemical engineering degree in lieu of a mechanical engineering degree is acceptable.

+ Candidates with less than seven years of experience may be considered if they demonstrate strong capability.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $65.00/hr.
