Job Description
What You'll Be Doing
+ Required to work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with our Health and Safety and other policies
+ Determine and advance strategic purchasing objectives
+ Ensure supply chain processes are adequate and updated as required
+ Coordinate processes with colleagues (Buying, Shipping/Receiving, Accounting)
+ Source and develop vendors for products
+ Monitor supplier performance to ensure improvements are made in the areas of cost, quality, and delivery performance
+ Evaluate quotations to determine suitability based on price, availability, and experience
+ Negotiate terms, conditions, price, or delivery in accordance with management objectives
+ Oversee the progress of purchase orders, initiate corrective action, and approve payment
+ Plan and/or oversee the annual physical inventory
+ Analyze and support completion of final job costing
+ Coordinate and disposition excess and non-conforming materials
+ Participate in project meetings as required

+ Effective in time management with ability to multi-task and prioritize
+ Technical aptitude with understanding of various aspects of machinery
+ Resourceful with sound analytical skills
+ Able to work independently as well as part of a team
+ Strong working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language
Level of Autonomy and Authority
+ Works without detailed supervision, but within clear guidelines, defined standards and specifications. Difficult, complex, or unusual matters are referred to more senior authority
+ May guide and monitor the work of other staff working on a project basis
+ Provides input and makes recommendations to management in areas of improvement
Key Requirements
+ Minimum of 5 years of related experience
+ Post-secondary education within a program focusing on Materials Management or Business Administration and/or related work experience with a demonstrated ability to fulfill the position requirements
