Job Purpose
Make a positive impact on the lives of youth facing adversity by leading our engaging "Discover Your Future" program. This after-school program provides a safe and supportive environment for students to explore their potential through a combination of ethics, academics, and athletic activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement the pre-developed "Discover Your Future" curriculum, which includes fun indoor, hands-on activities, and outdoor games and sports.
Supervise and direct volunteer mentors to ensure a positive and productive learning experience for the youth participants.
Manage program logistics within the program locations.
Additional Information:
Schedule: 10-20 hours per week between 12:45 PM - 6:00 PM, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Mandatory weekly staff meeting on Mondays from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
Start Date: July 8th

Duties and Responsibilities
Program Delivery and Youth Engagement:
Implement the "Discover Your Future" program curriculum effectively and accurately at program locations, engaging large groups of youth (up to 50) and supervising them alongside volunteer mentors.
Manage program logistics, including daily set-up, clean-up, attendance lists, and data collection.
Volunteer Management and Collaboration:
Conduct professional meetings with volunteers, maintaining a positive and productive relationship to ensure program success.
Collaborate with school staff to build and maintain strong partnerships that benefit the program and the students.
Communication and Program Support:
Communicate clearly and efficiently with the Program Manager or Volunteer Coordinator regarding any program or volunteer concerns.
Be a team player and demonstrate willingness to assist with additional Future for KIDS tasks, such as camps, awareness events, fundraisers, and mobile STEM outreach using the company vehicle.
Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience managing youth programs and activities.
Experience training and/or coaching others is a plus.
Skills:
Ability to effectively deliver engaging and educational curriculum to youth participants.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proven ability to manage and motivate large groups of youth (e.g., 30-50) in a positive and productive learning environment.
Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with volunteers, including providing clear direction and supervision.
Ability to maintain professional relationships with school staff.
Proficient in data collection (program surveys).
Reliable transportation with space for program materials.
Working Conditions
You will be responsible for evening, weekend work (as you are available), and working outdoors.
Physical Requirements
You may be called upon to lift objects in the storage area, program events, and fund development events. During the Discover Your Future Program you may be required to participate in sports and activities.
