We Are Seeking

Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Economic Development Project Manager or Economic Development Project Manager, Senior. The primary duties of the Economic Development Project Manager position include:

+ Developing and managing business assistance programs to support the growth of Gilbert-based businesses (senior level).

+ Planning, organizing, and performing outreach to Gilbert-based businesses, and executing national and international targeted trade shows and sales missions in alignment with the annual action plan.

+ Preparing responses to requests for information/proposal (RFP/RFI) and evaluating the fiscal and economic benefits of potential projects;

+ Creating and maintaining relationships with landowners/representatives, site selectors, consultants, commercial brokers, developers, regional stakeholders, and utility partners.

+ Facilitating projects through the Town planning and plan review process.

+ Coordinating applications for state incentives with regional and state economic development partners.

+ Coordinating workforce development activities with appropriate organizations.

+ Inputting and managing lead and project activity in the department's CRM.

Economic Development Project Manager

Minimum Qualifications

+ Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Public Administration, Communications, Economic Development, Urban Planning, Economics, Marketing, or a closely related field.

+ Five (5) years of relevant experience in business attraction, business retention and expansion, small business development/entrepreneurship, marketing, redevelopment, or related economic development line of service.

Licensing/Certifications

+ Valid AZ driver's license.

Economic Development Project Manager, Senior

Minimum Qualifications

+ Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Public Administration, Communications, Economic Development, Urban Planning, Economics, Marketing, or a closely related field.

+ 7+ years of relevant experience in business attraction, business retention and expansion, small business development/entrepreneurship, marketing, redevelopment, or related economic development line of service.

+ Experience in continuous process improvement planning related to metrics and goals.

+ The ability to mentor and provide support to other team members.

Licensing/Certifications

+ Industry-specific professional certification, or the ability to achieve certification within one year. Examples include, but are not limited to, Certified Economic Developer (CEcD), AZED Pro, Master Economic Development Professional (MEDP), or Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP).

+ Valid AZ driver's license.

This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Exempt, ineligible for overtime compensation.

This position has been identified as an eligible position for a Hybrid work agreement, defined as “Approximately half (50%) of the employees’ time is spent on-site, and half (50%) can be spent working remotely”. Currently, the Office of Economic Development has identified Monday and Thursday as eligible remote workdays, bringing the team together in the office on Tuesday and Wednesday. Modified work privileges are approved at the sole discretion of the department director; as such, the department reserves the right to modify or discontinue modified work arrangements at any point. Regardless of work location (Remote, On-Site, or Hybrid), Town of Gilbert employees are required to reside in the state of Arizona.
