We are seeking highly skilled Semiconductor Photodetector Engineers and Scientists to join our dynamic LCDG R&D and Engineering team. LCDG is producing a variety of detectors – APDs, pins, and photoconductive mode based semiconductor materials such as Silicon, InAs, InGaAs, InAsSb, InAs/GaSb T2SL, InAs/InAsSb T2SL, Lead Salts as well as Pyro-LTaO3/DLaTGS, and III-V ICLEDs and ICLs. This role involves designing, simulating, fabricating, and characterizing semiconductor devices to optimize their performance and reliability. The successful candidate will work on cutting-edge technology, contributing to the development of next-generation semiconductor detectors.

Responsibilities:

Lead the development and optimization of semiconductor fabrication processes, including deposition, etching, lithography, and doping.
Design experiments to characterize process parameters and identify opportunities for improvement in device performance and yield.
Collaborate with equipment engineers and suppliers to implement process upgrades and modifications.
Develop integration schemes for complex semiconductor devices, ensuring compatibility between different process modules.
Optimize process sequences to minimize defects, improve uniformity, and enhance device reliability.
Work closely with device designers and circuit engineers to integrate process requirements into device architectures.
Analyze manufacturing data to identify root causes of yield loss and develop strategies for yield improvement.
Implement process controls and monitoring systems to ensure consistent and reproducible manufacturing outcomes.
Work with quality assurance teams to establish robust process qualification and validation procedures.
Lead technology transfer efforts for new semiconductor processes from research and development to production.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transition of processes from pilot line to high-volume manufacturing.
Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures and process flow diagrams.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, reduce cycle time, and lower manufacturing costs.
Implement statistical process control (SPC) methodologies to monitor process performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in semiconductor processing technologies and industry best practices.
Collaborate closely with engineers and technicians across different functional areas, including process engineering, equipment engineering, and quality assurance.
Communicate project status, technical findings, and recommendations to stakeholders and management in clear and concise manner.
Participate in cross-functional meetings and project reviews to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

MUST HAVE Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
MUST HAVE photodetector research, development, and characterization experience
MUST HAVE Strong hands-on experience in semiconductor processing, including thin film deposition, photolithography, etching, and thermal processing.
MUST HAVE 10+ years Hands on experience on III-V material/device processing with InGaAs, InAsSb, InAs/InAsSb T2SL, and/or epi-grown silicon.
Proficiency in statistical analysis techniques and software tools for data analysis (e.g., JMP, Minitab).
MUST HAVE Familiarity with semiconductor device physics and device characterization techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
MUST HAVE Experience with semiconductor material and device characterization techniques, such as IV/CV with/without cryogenic environment, cryogenic FTIR spectral response, EQE, APD Gain, breakdown, excess noise, SNR, temperature qualification, PL, responsivity, D*, XRD, SEM/EDS, Band diagram, and reliability measurements.
10+ years Demonstrated track record of driving process improvement initiatives and delivering results.
