Skills & Qualifications
Middle School Science teacher (language of instruction is Spanish) duties and responsibilities include:
Preparation and implementation of daily lessons, delivery of assignments, and timely evaluation of all relevant class work and student progress.
Design and implementation of appropriate, authentic assessments and support of individual student learning styles.
Timely and proactive communication with parents about student progress.
Collaboration with other members of the faculty, administration, and staff on experiential, interdisciplinary, and community-based opportunities that add to the school community.
Active participation in all faculty and staff meetings.
Effective and timely communication with varied school constituencies.
Support of divisional and school-wide initiatives through committee work, where appropriate.
Supervision and/or participation in non-academic activities, including lunch, study hall, and recess supervision.
Teach students in Grades 6-8 and may include science instruction for students in Grades 4 and 5.

Additional Qualifications
The successful candidate must:
Have at least bachelor’s degree in an area of science (master’s degree preferred)
Be a native Spanish speaker
A valid teaching certificate
Have or be able to obtain AZ fingerprint clearance card
It is preferred that the successful candidate:
Have or be willing to obtain a valid teaching certificate in the state of Arizona

Working Conditions

● Organize and work between office and classroom spaces
● Reach with the hands and arms and use of hands to finger, type, and manipulate computer keyboards and communication devices.
● Additionally, the incumbent must be able to converse in clear English both written and orally, over a telephone and in person.
● Occasionally, incumbent may be required to lift up to 25 pounds, traverse uneven terrain and move about campus, bend and stoop
● Provide own transportation
● Work hours are in accordance with the employee handbook
