Job Title: Technical Writer
We are seeking a practical but forward-thinking Technical Writer to join our team, specializing in the creation and maintenance of high-quality technical documentation for our slurry pumps, cyclones, and valves. One of the primary roles is developing and updating installation, operation, and maintenance manuals (IOMs) that are clear, accurate, and aligned with FLSmidth's standards.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with product development and engineering teams to ensure documentation reflects the latest product specifications and best practices. We are especially interested in candidates who bring experience with generative AI tools to streamline and enhance the technical writing and editing process.
As one of the first in the company to integrate AI into workflows, you'll be a trailblazer-pioneering new methods while navigating cybersecurity and compliance requirements. Creativity, adaptability, and a proactive mindset will be key to your success.
This Position Reports to: Daniel Harrison - Product Development Engineering Supervisor.
Initially, you will focus on learning and editing existing documentation. By the end of your first year, you will be expected to independently draft new documents and propose updates to existing ones, collaborating with engineers to finalize content. This is an on-site position - your cubicle and your role is here in our office at the heart of our 20-person Product Development team based in Tucson, AZ, working closely with engineers, designers and coordinators and just inside the door to our assembly facility.
