Immediately seeking an Instructional Designer with Proven experience as an instructional designer with compliance and/or utility experience preferred. Expertise in Articulate Suite, along with ability to successful manage multiple SME stakeholder engagements and strong consultation skills. Experience in SuccessFactors LMS, Audio AI, and other design platforms required.

Instructional Designer Summary The Learning & Development Instructional Designer develops high-quality training materials and programs that effectively support APS's learning needs by applying instructional design principles to create engaging learning experiences by developing instructional materials, including instructor-led training (ILT) courses, e-learning modules, videos, job aids and assessments.

Minimum Requirements

A four-year Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Instructional Technology or other job-related field from an accredited college or university plus three (3) years professional-level experience in instructional design.

In lieu of bachelor’s degree, combination of college coursework and/or professional-level experience in instructional design equaling seven (7) years.

Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:

Experience in the power generation and utilities sector or other closely related industry.

Strong knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theories and best practices in training program development.

Proficiency in using authoring tools, learning management systems (LMS), and multimedia software (Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Vision Software, virtual reality training simulations, etc.) to develop and deliver training materials.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.

Major Accountabilities

1) Collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs), and team members to analyze learning needs and design effective training solutions that align with business objectives.

2) Conducts thorough research to develop accurate and up-to-date content in training materials, incorporating industry trends and regulatory requirements specific to the power generation (non-nuclear) and utilities sector.

3) Collaborates with cross-functional teams to confirm training materials meet organizational standards and regulatory guidelines.

4) Utilizes instructional technologies and tools, learning management systems (LMS), and multimedia tools to enhance the development, delivery, and effectiveness of training materials.

5) Effectively applies adult learning theories and instructional design models (e.g., the SAT process) to create learner-centered training programs that engage and motivate employees.

6) Develops and executes assessments, evaluations and examinations that align with training course objectives, effectively gauging the training program's impact, pinpointing opportunities for enhancement and facilitating appropriate refinements.

7) Manages multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and budget constraints, while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.

8) Stays abreast of emerging trends and advancements in instructional design, e-learning technologies, and the power generation (non-nuclear) and utilities industry, applying relevant innovations to improve training programs.

9) Provides guidance and support to facilitators and SMEs during the delivery of training programs, ensuring consistent and impactful delivery of content.

10) Evaluates training course content (including ILT, vendor-led sessions, etc.) to ensure alignment with APS standards, optimizing both effectiveness and efficiency of the training programs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $60.00/hr.
