Launch Vehicles is seeking an experienced **Principal Systems Engineer** to serve as a **Ground Based Mid-Course Defense (GMD) Principal Systems Engineer,** located in **Chandler, AZ** .
**Only local candidates will be considered. Relocation Provisions are not available. This position is 100% onsite in the Chandler, AZ facility.**
This GMD Principal Systems Engineer position will be a key part of our Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) team, which is responsible for the GMD booster delivery and sustainment efforts, including the following activities (and others not included in this list):
+ Ensuring that the Systems Engineering effort on the GMD Booster Program complies with all internal standards and guidelines.
+ Performing requirements capture, definition, flow down and derivation of lower-level requirements.
+ Performing verification activities (planning and final capture) using a requirements-based testing approach.
+ Performing system integration activities that include hardware/software design implementation and testing.
+ Functioning in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment. Regular interface with program management, engineering staff, and external customers is expected.
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD.
+ U.S. Citizenship is required.
+ Currently in possession of, or the ability to acquire, DoD Secret level security clearance.
+ Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD secret security clearance
+ Experience with requirement tracing/verification from customer requirements through sub-component requirements.
+ Experience with hardware testing in a lab environment.
+ Experience with system testing and launch operations.
+ Ability to Travel 10%
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Demonstrated experience leading a team of engineers, including mentoring/training, is desired.
+ Demonstrated experienced-based and academic foundation in Systems Engineering fundamentals.
+ Experience with Northrop Grumman Launch Vehicles Systems Engineering standards/guidelines and expectations.
+ Experience interfacing with external customers (meetings, presentation, negotiation).
+ Experience interfacing with internal customers and program stakeholders, in both one-on-one and meeting settings.
+ Experience with requirements management tools; Experience with DOORS is preferred.
+ Experience with Agile development practices; Experience with JIRA is preferred.
+ Experience with data management; Experience with Tableau is preferred.
Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
