Correctional Health Services (CHS) is an industry-leading healthcare organization for the incarcerated population, providing medical, dental, mental health, psychiatric care, and substance abuse treatment (i.e., Medication-Assisted Treatment, and Opioid Treatment Program). Position Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or GED

Experience
Three years of experience in the care and treatment of mental health disorders and behavioral difficulties

OR
A combination of post-secondary education and job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis.

Essential Job Tasks

Assists licensed professional staff members in assessing the mental status of patients
Leads, organizes, and participates in therapeutic interactions, guidance, support, and role modeling
Participates as a member of the care team and implements an assigned treatment plan interventions
Communicates with patients in various situations, small groups, activity groups, and as directed
Assists clinical staff during group activities
Monitors and reports any unusual behavior or incidents
Maintains documentation for all patient contact

Working Conditions
Must be able to work inside a jail environment, working in close proximity to inmates and other staff, and being indoors in a confined area handling multiple or complicated tasks. Requires accuracy, decision-making, and concentration skills to be vigilant in a teamwork environment. Performs a high volume of work under short
Selection Procedure
The Maricopa County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates considered to be the most highly qualified. Those selected will be assessed based on the evaluation of listed education and experience. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a list provided by Human Resources.

Typically, successful candidates are hired at a salary rate up to the midpoint of the range, based on relevant experience, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.
