Under the direction of the Lead Drafter, prepare clear, complete and accurate sketches, layouts and drawings of assemblies, sub-assemblies and all engineering papers and notices in accordance with standard drafting procedures. Essential Duties
+ Reasonable and predictable attendance is essential.
+ Prepare drawings, final drawing revisions, part lists, list of materials, diagrams, maps, charts, schematics, layouts, assemblies, Engineering Change Requests, Engineering Change Notices, and New Drawing Releases.
+ Drawings may require tolerance, computing, estimating and the application of mechanical and electrical principles.
+ Maintain and use appropriate equipment, files, and machines, including computer-aided design equipment.
+ Make engineering drafts and drawings in accordance with he standard drafting procedures as to line work, dimensions, tolerances and formal layouts in the proper view, indication fasteners and joining requirements and other engineering data.
+ Draft multiple-view assembly and sub-assembly drawings as required for the manufacture and repair of product lines.
+ Check drawings for space and location arrangement.
+ Read, interpret and draw sketches, drawings, layouts and schematics. Prepare diagrams, graphs, maps, charts and isometrics.
+ Make final sketch of proposed drawings, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part or another, and relation of various parts to whole structure. Check and correct drawing errors, make necessary notes for revision, and make necessary drawing changes.
+ Incorporate approved Engineering Change Notices into affected drawings. Perform all drafting generated by New Drawing Releases.
+ Perform mathematical computations such as tolerance checks, weight of part studies, etc.

David Weekley Homes is seeking an Architectural Drafter to join our Phoenix Design team. Our office is located in Tempe, AZ. We are seeking enthusiastic Revit and AutoCAD professionals with a passion for residential design to play a key role in the development of product for our Phoenix Division.

Responsibilities include:
+ Develop construction documents for municipality plan approval and permitting
+ Development of both single-family and multi-family architectural plans for our various cities
+ Ensure that all architectural plans are compliant with the codes and requirements specified by the permitting authority in various cities
+ Revise architectural plans as marked and thoroughly coordinate all sheets that are affected by any changes
+ Develop details per drawing specifics
+ Interact with field Team Members for projects under construction
+ Ensure established deadlines are met
+ Facilitate problem-solving with fellow Team Members, consultants and municipalities
+ Facilitate creation of Lot Fit Analysis and Lot Fit Books for various new home communities
Qualifications
+ 3 or more years work experience in architectural drafting is preferred
+ Residential drafting/design experience is a plus
+ Knowledge and/or proficiency in Revit software required
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD software is a plus
+ Knowledge and experience with residential construction drawings
+ Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Architectural Design, Construction, Drafting, Environmental Design, or related field

**Key Responsibilities:**

**Required Qualifications:**
+ **Experience:** 6+ years of experience in structural drafting and design, particularly with structural steel, concrete, and plant equipment foundations.
+ **Skills:** Strong knowledge of structural members, shapes, and detailing. Proficiency in using **Bentley Systems MicroStation Connect** for design work.
+ **Education:** While a degree is not required, a 2-year AA in a related field or equivalent practical experience in structural design is ideal.
+ **Additional Skills:** Ability to work with field notes, conceptual sketches, and engineer’s ideas to create detailed drawings. Familiarity with concrete layout and reinforcement detailing.
+ **Travel Requirements:** Ability to travel to SRP generating sites for fieldwork and site visits (Smith test required).
+ **Knowledge:** Experience with power generation processes and plant equipment is a plus, but not required.
