Manufacturing Design Engineers Provide technical manufacturing support to a program from the early development phases through transition to production. They participate in manufacturing and test requirements development, design for manufacturing activities, manufacturing process development and factory capabilities analysis to ensure factory readiness and improve product producibility. They leverage technical knowledge of manufacturing capabilities, product technologies, factory requirements and business processes to establish and execute the manufacturing plan and influence technical program decisions to support the overall program value stream. This role will be in support of the Tomahawk portfolio development programs. This will include but is not limited to: Transition to production activities, coordination of and leading production Readiness/Gate 10 Review(s), Support Delta PRR activities, interface with program managers and operations managers, Designing and implementing new manufacturing processes, new tooling development, and overall development build support.
What you will do
+ Lead manufacturing and producibility authority within the program while a pplying manufacturing engineering skillsets across the extended value stream to resolve constraints and improve process and product designs
+ Actively pursue process and procedural changes to ensure that objectives in the areas of cost, efficiency, and quality are met
+ Design, control, and improve the producibility of products through collaboration with a multi-disciplined team while identifying and resolving constraints across the program
+ Provide technical input and peer review to engineering designs and design changes
+ Develop Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool, and fixture designs
+ This will be an onsite role in our Tucson, AZ
Qualifications You Must Have
+ Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
+ Experience within a manufacturing environment participating in manufacturing and test requirements development
+ Experience designing manufacturing activities, manufacturing process development and factory capabilities analysis to ensure factory readiness and improve product producibility
+ The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

**Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Work closely with MI Project Management (PM) team to deliver high quality Synapse product solutions.
+ Act as lead technical resource for MI Implementation projects.

As an Electrical Project Engineer - Global Construction Engineering your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Being consulted for any major construction project related to facilities power systems.
Assess the feasibility of new projects.
Develop detailed scope through field walks and collaboration with facilities operations partners and project engineers from other disciplines.
Serve as the Owner's representative to provide technical guidance and issue resolution during detailed design and construction.

Qualifications

Our Mechanical Project Engineers are highly valued and are relied on to provide technical leadership in their area of expertise. They are one of the first to be consulted for any major construction project related to Mechanical (Chillers, Boilers, HVAC, Process Cooling Water, Oil-Free Air, Process Vacuum systems etc). Early in the project, they assess the feasibility of new projects.
