Manufacturing Engineers develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods. They analyze product specifications to determine appropriate designs and processes that support these customer requirements. You would apply your skills to develop, test, modify, and create solutions through a collaborative effort with various teams.
What You Will Do
Leading the design, control, and improvement of the manufacturing process through collaboration within a multi-disciplined team
Developing Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool, and fixture designs
Influencing and translating engineering design requirements into manufacturing processes
Supporting manufacturing areas daily with process troubleshooting, incorporation of engineering changes into the MDP
Leading non-conforming material analysis with root cause and corrective action analysis as required
Leading Continuous Improvement through process improvements to improve cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk to assemblers, automate, reduce costs (both direct and indirect) using Six Sigma principles and data driven decision making
Providing real-time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators; in-house as well as the supply base.
Developing and implementing manufacturing process control and performance monitoring
Tool/fixture development to drive ergonomics into processes
Leading corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence
Interacting with internal customers
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
Experience within a manufacturing environment
Experience leading teams or projects
The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance.

Northrop Grumman is currently seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer - Level 1 to join our Launch Vehicles Manufacturing Integration Team in Chandler, AZ. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

**Role and Impact:**
+ This individual will be responsible for the integration of mechanical structures and their subcomponents.
+ May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plans. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, investigate and initiate corrective actions for problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
+ Develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control.
+ Provide guidance to engineering regarding Design For Manufacturing (DFM) concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
+ Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
**Your Expertise - Required Qualifications:**
+ **Level 1** - Bachelor’s degree with 6 months-1 year of relevant experience
+ Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance, which generally requires US Citizenship as a prerequisite
+ Experience with manufacturing processes, procedures work cell layout, production build sequence, tooling design, troubleshooting/corrective action, and quality assurance.
+ Experience adapting machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions
+ Familiarity working with CAD, NX and Teamcenter
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ A Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
+ An active DoD Security Clearance of Secret or above
+ A good working knowledge of creating, supporting & sustaining the use of Manufacturing Engineering System (MES) work instructions

Salary Range: $58,200.00 - $87,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
