**What you’ll do:**
As a Design Engineer, you will be a key member in designing, documenting, testing/commissioning, and/or bidding on electronic security installation projects. You should understand how to interpret physical security standards, drawings, bill of materials, request for proposals, and submittal requirements provided by the client. The expectations are to be fully engaged with the different stakeholders on your respective projects, keeping consistent communication and track of deadlines.
**Essential Responsibilities and Activities Include but are Not Limited to:**
+ Responsible for all technical submittals for delivering security projects.
+ Work with a team of engineers, project managers, and field technicians.
+ Support project lifecycle of large scale construction project.
+ Manage multiple project designs concurrently and ensure they meet customer standards.
+ Participate in coordination calls with the engineering team and designated project manager to ensureproper communication and delivery.
+ Attend coordination calls with contractors/trade groups to coordinate dependencies with regards tosecurity drawings and installation.
+ Track revisions, RFIs, submittals, Bill of Materials throughout project lifecycle.
+ Provide in-person site surveys.

**Key Requirements:**
+ Must have flexibility to commute to project sites in the Phoenix, AZ area.
+ Must have 2+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 0+ years of engineering design experience with Master of Science degree in Engineering with some engineering internship experience.

Skills and Requirements
8+ years recent PWB design layout experience using the Cadence Allegro design tool suite;
Experience with high density complex, multilayer boards (6-16 layers);
Experience with layout of analog and digital circuits;
Experience with layout/routing of high-speed digital and controlled-impedance circuits, such as SERDES, DDR3/DDR4 memory.
Experience designing rigid-flex assemblies.
Ability to prepare artwork (ODB++, Gerbers) for fabrication of PWBs.
Extensive experience with footprint/symbol creation and library management.
Understanding of IPC-2221 and IPC-7351 specifications.
AA/AS degree or other 2-year post high school training
Must be eligible to obtain a DoD Security Clearance. Understanding of Printed Wiring Assembly manufacturing process;
Experience with CAM350 and/or Valor DFM software tools;
Experience with OrCad Layout and Mentor PADS or Xpedition tool suite null

+ Skills in the following are required: 12 Principles of Animation, understanding of graphic design and how it relates to motion graphics, motion graphics trends, motion production pipeline, strong ability to give pointed feedback, understanding of typography and its use in motion, manipulation and editing of sound files, story arc, color theory, how to understand requirements of a creative brief for motion graphics, understanding of personal brand development, and understanding of industry expectations for motion graphics portfolios. + Minimum: Bachelors degree in communication arts, graphic design, illustration, animation, fine arts, art education or other related discipline.
+ Preferred: Masters degree and 3 or more years’ experience in the design industry.
+ A grasp of Design Thinking processes, creative brief creation, color theory, principles of composition, typographical layout, drawing and rapid visualization in traditional media is required. Course: Advanced Design Fundamentals
This course builds on design fundamentals by increasing students’ understanding of content development and production methods within the advertising design process. Students will create and produce advertising campaigns and products of various scope and size. Technology requirement: Students are responsible for providing their own laptop that is capable of running the Adobe Creative Cloud.

Course: Designing with Type
This course explores fundamentals and traditions for designing with type, as well as corporate design with an emphasis on typography with integration of vector designs and photography into promotional pieces. Students propose and create solutions for visual problems with type. This course includes reading, writing, and lab assignments and requires the creation and exhibition of student artwork. Technology requirement: Students provide their own laptop and mouse. Students will use industry-standard software to complete assignments.

What You Will Bring:
+ Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in communication arts, graphic design, illustration, animation, or other related discipline.
+ Preferred: Master’s degree and 3 or more years’ experience in the design industry.
+ Industry-level knowledge of typography, terminology and history, font management, page design and composition, and design and production of single and multi-page products. Understanding of ink on paper and pixels on screen production requirements including color model, resolution, file format, file size, aspect ratios, and file prep and distribution are required. Industry-level knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Behance, and Creative Cloud Libraries is required. Job titles that fit the criteria: Graphic Designer, Production Artist, Production Manager, Art Director, Creative Director, Illustrator.
