    The Design and Technical Sales Engineer contributes to the success of The Zippertubing Co. by providing innovative solutions to our customers. This position will interact directly with clients, identifying, developing, and testing products based on customer and business needs. Key responsibilities include product design, creation of prototypes, and transition of prototypes to production. This position will require knowledge of materials, creation of 3D models for products via CAD (SolidWorks preferred), and associated print drawings, tooling design, and documentation for customer and production use.

    Major Tasks, Accountabilities, and Key Responsibilities:

    Interface with customers to identify requirements and translate them into custom solutions.
    Provide technical support and effectively communicate technical information to our customers.
    Work with sales and marketing teams to create a clear understanding of our engineered solutions so they can best market and sell our products.
    Develop product tooling, fixtures, jigs, and manufacturing efficiency aids.
    Maintain project completion status for all active projects.
    Create and modify Engineering documentation such as material specifications, drawings, 3D models, operating procedures, and reports.

    Qualifications/Requirements

    BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university is required.
    3+ years’ experience in engineering design or technical sales.
    Proficient in CAD, SolidWorks preferred.
    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
    Effective verbal and written communication, mentoring, facilitation, and team-building skills.
    Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
    Shown ability to excel in a results-oriented, challenging environment.
    While performing the duties of this job, the DTE will perform most of the work in a multi-occupied office environment, with face-to-face customer interactions, and some work is performed on the production floor, near vibrating loud equipment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. At times the employee may be exposed to airborne particulates, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations on the production floor. The noise level can be loud at times.

    This role is partially sedentary; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a step ladder as necessary during their shift. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The position involves sitting, talking, hearing, climbing stairs, using the elevator, and walking throughout the 8-10-hour shift. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate tools, drafting instruments, computers, printers, and various equipment.

    As a Field Service Technician, you will be working at customer locations across the U.S. and possibly some international locations. Basic job duties include installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing of GasGuard, ChemGuard, and Poly Flow delivery systems and associated support systems including Pumps, distribution piping, and exhaust systems.

    Responsibilities include:

    Preform pre-task planning and equipment condition analysis prior to starting any work

    Audit equipment and maintenance areas according to quality and safety standards

    Primary Function:

    Job Description

    The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for the position of Instrument Coordinator, Senior. This is a 12-month appointment, starting in July 2025. We seek an applicant with relevant expertise in analytical chemistry with an emphasis in experience with modern chemical instrumentation. This position has three major job functions in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. One is to provide oversight, maintenance and simple repair on instrumentation used in the teaching labs and instrumentation used by research faculty training undergraduate and graduate students. Appropriate and functioning instrumentation is critical to training students and for faculty to conduct research. The second is to prepare and teach undergraduate instrumental and analytical laboratories and supervise teaching assistants when the need arises from the department. These laboratories are predominantly taken by chemistry majors and are essential to our bachelor's degree offerings. A third job function related to the main two job functions listed is training of students and faculty on how to use the chemical instrumentation. Additionally, oversight of the usage of the instrumentation is part of this function as well as purchase of chemicals, supplies, and instrument parts needed for the laboratory and repair of instrumentation.

    Instrument Support - 40%

    • Provide routine maintenance and repair of instrumentation in instrumental analysis lab (such as GC, GC/MS, LC-MS, ICP-MS, FAA, GFAA, UV-Vis, and FTIR).
    • Inventory and purchase supplies, repair parts, and equipment.
    • Develops procedures for the use of laboratory equipment and provides instructional laboratory support services regarding the proper and safe use of equipment. Monitors classes for safety compliance.

    Instrument Oversight - 25%

    • Maintain accurate logs of instrument scheduling and usage, failure, repair, and maintenance of instruments in instrument lab and keep records on associated costs.
    • Provide troubleshooting, maintenance, repair of instrumentation, and lab equipment support in faculty research labs.
