The Electronic Technician performs all necessary repairs, adjustments, and preventive maintenance procedures to ensure effective operation of all equipment in the areas of revenue collection and processing, two-way radio communication, electronic head signs, and digital video recorders and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
* Diagnoses and performs repair procedures necessary to correct all reported malfunctions of farebox, money processing, radio, and electronic head sign and digital recording equipment.
* Analyzes, cleans, and repairs all component parts relative to this equipment.
* Performs preventive maintenance procedures to reduce the instances of repair related malfunctions
* Completes and submits daily reports related to repair procedures.
* Performs road calls, on-the-road repairs, and road tests as needed.
* Keeps assigned work area clean and organized.
* Maintains DOT card and Class B driver license.
* Other related duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
* 3-5 years of experience as an Electronics Technician
* ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided
* Must be able to comprehend parts books and maintenance manuals and accurately complete any necessary reports or other documents.
* Mechanic’s Tool Set
* Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
* Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Physical Requirements:
The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
* Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
* Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
* Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
* Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise

Performs tests to assess conformance with engineering specifications. Sets up testing apparatus and conducts quality assurance/control tests of raw materials, parts, components, finished items, packaging, equipment and systems. + Testing a variety of electronic units using prescribed test procedures:
+ Setting up and operating various test stands
+ Configuring test equipment for special tests as needed
+ Interpreting and recording test results

+ Using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electronic units to the sub-assembly and component level
