**Northrop Grumman Space Systems is looking for a Senior Principal Optical Engineer to support the Launch Vehicles organization in Chandler, Arizona.**

**The Sr. Principal Optical Engineer, will be part of the Seeker IPT, you will utilize your expertise to coordinate multi-disciplinary team efforts to ensure integration and performance at the seeker level and higher systems.**

**The team is responsible for the development of the design, integration and testing of development and flight hardware, evaluation of performance as it pertains to the algorithms, supporting the development of the seeker test suite, and ensuring representative physics-based models to support algorithm development and 6 DoF.**

**The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with significantly diverse assignments and collaborative/team settings across all levels.**

**Responsibilities:**

**Coordinate the efforts between multi-disciplinary teams to ensure an integrated seeker system solution.**

**Decompose requirements from performance basis, identify appropriate verification methodology, and evaluate performance of concept and detailed design.**

**Interfacing with the customer to provide technical status updates on activities such as design efforts, integration status, maturation plans and procedures, and testing results**

**Overseeing error budgets pertaining to the seeker solution and the ability to support modeling that is used to inform either requirements or design sources of error**

**Develop seeker hardware, optical system research and development, data analysis, and evaluation of algorithm development as it pertains to the hardware**

**Overseeing vendor development activities and ensure deliverable timeframes are met**

**Develop and maintain a strong technical understanding of seeker systems to aid in identification and troubleshooting of potential issues and ensuring all requirements flowed from the customer’s statement of scope are addressed**

**Basic Qualifications:**

**Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math)**

**_Level IV - requires a bachelor's and 9 years' experience or a master's and 7 years' experience._**

**Current and Active DoD Secret Security Clearance**

**Seeker requirement decomposition from top level customer requirements**

**Experience with optical imaging systems ranging from the visible to LWIR spectrum**

**Understanding of Fourier analysis and numerical analysis**

**Experience in root cause and corrective action methodologies**

**Experience with optical design tools: ZEMAX, Code V, FRED, NX, and Solid Works**

Salary Range: $130,500.00 - $195,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Receives and stocks merchandise in the Optical area, and organizes and maintains the Optical area by following Company procedures, utilizing equipment appropriately, merchandising, and completing paperwork, logs, and other required documentation.

Operates hardware such as cash registers or related equipment, processes member purchases, and assists in payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges using appropriate procedures for different membership and payment types.

Sells Optical products and services by assisting Members with purchasing decisions, measuring, adjusting, and repairing frames and lenses, completing eyewear/contact lens orders, identifying and verifying prescription information, completing and maintaining paperwork, forms, and other required documentation, collecting payments for doctor services, and performing and recording results of optometric pre-tests.

The hourly wage range for this position is $22.00 to $30.00*

The Lab Manager oversees the operation of the lab and ensures quality and same day service standards are met. This position also supervises the Lab Technicians.

+ Optimizes and oversees the Lab to ensure efficiency and compliance with company’s policies and operational guidelines.

+ Supervises and motivates Lab Technicians and ensures the timely completion of day-to-day functions.

+ Assists the General Manager with recruiting, selecting and retaining a high caliber lab staff.

+ Delegates work functions to team members in an appropriate manner in order to maximize organizational goals and individual development.

+ Ensures lab associate scheduling complies with payroll guidelines while considering skill level.

+ Ensures that all lab associates are properly trained on all lab equipment and they continue to develop their knowledge of laboratory techniques. Partners with the Training Department and Employee Relations to ensure all training and development occur on time and when needed for each associate.

+ Completes annual performance reviews along with continuous coaching conversations with all associates.

What would you do? – The Specifics

+ Greet customers in a friendly manner and ensure high quality customer service.

+ Meet National Vision’s sales objectives.

+ Maintain awareness of same day service using “Ready When Promised” production board.

+ Ensure customers receive quality products in a timely manner.

+ Assist with answering phones efficiently in accordance with National Vision telephone protocol.

+ Ensure all customer service complaints are handled effectively and efficiently.

+ Review reasons for redos and implement practices to correct. Ensure quality standards are met.

+ Check on status and notify customers when orders are in or of any delays.

+ Ensure all intra-web functions are done daily including cancelled job status, backorder list and problem jobs.

+ Assist with dispensing eyeglasses and contact lenses to customers, if permitted by state law.

+ Perform insertion and removal training of contact lens as directed by management and permitted by state law.

+ Ensure store cleanliness policies are adhered to at all times.

+ Complete inventory count and replenish stock as necessary.

+ Ensure all visual merchandising is implemented and maintained.

+ Ensure that the eyeglass department is kept clean and organized at all times.

+ Ensure that inventory control and loss prevention procedures are followed at all times.

+ Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.

+ Effective interpersonal skills.

+ Ability to present and sell eyeglass features and specialty lenses.

+ Must possess strong customer service skills.

+ Ability to learn optical knowledge.

+ Must be able to work and interact effectively within a store environment, adhering to and promoting all store policies, procedures, and regulations.

+ Ability to stand for extended periods of time that may average 6-8 hours.

What would you do? – The Specifics

+ Drive and achieve profit, sales and performance goals according to National Vision standards.

+ Monitor sales results against budgeted.

+ Ensure all store associates achieve and maintain the highest level of customer service.

+ Maintain awareness of same day service using “Ready When Promised” production board.

+ Communicate with the General Manger, District Manager, and Corporate Office and provide store reporting as required.

+ Develop and maintain a good working relationship with doctor(s) associated with the store and serves as liaison between doctor and store personnel.

+ Ensure store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place and all associates and doctors are aware of current promotions.

+ Supervise and motivate Optician/Sales Associates and ensures the timely completion of day-to-day functions.

+ Assist the General Manager with balancing staffing to store volume. Assist in recruiting, selecting and retaining a high caliber staff.

+ Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.

+ Optical sales experience. Supervising experience is preferred.
