**Position summary**
Looking for highly-trained and passionate research scientists to lead research projects to leverage the world’s largest cancer database of comprehensive and deep molecular data and clinical outcome to advance precision medicine in oncology. The Research Scientist, Clinical and Translational Research (CTR) will manage a team of scientist and/or analysts working closely with numerous leading biopharma partners and a network (Caris Precision Oncology Alliance) of leading cancer institutions and centers. Research results will be presented at major conferences and published in top clinical oncology journals, and leveraged to inform critical elements of drug development including biomarker strategy, cohort builds and assessment, and treatment patterns in patient populations of interest. The CTR will develop and manage strategic plans for functional areas or significant projects. Help to aligns policies, products, and development efforts with strategies.
**Job responsibilities:**
+ Carry out assigned research projects, initiated either internally or externally as collaborative efforts; apply knowledge of cancer biology, molecular genetics, and clinical oncology to ensure the quality and novelty of the projects.
+ Work under the supervision of CTR leadership for study design, planning and data interpretation; work in close collaboration and synergy with data scientists on data extraction and perform the most appropriate statistical analysis.
+ Communicate effectively with external stakeholders including POA collaborators, biopharma partners and/or company leadership and to formulate and refine research ideas and proposals to ensure the scientific originality and maximum impact to advancing precision oncology.
+ Work closely with cross-functional teams internally or externally, including but not limited to data science team, POA Strategy team, Biopharma & business Development, Medical Affairs scientists, Bioinformatics, Molecular Science Liaison Team, Molecular Geneticists, pathologists, and statisticians.
+ Draft manuscripts, conference abstracts, posters, and/or presentation slides for various audiences
+ Work collaboratively with internal/external researchers on editing drafts until finalization and publication.
+ Be familiar with the CMI reports, including the tests and evidence review process, in order to align research projects with the overall goal of the company.
+ Stay abreast of the fast emerging scientific and clinical literature in the field of clinical oncology, share with the CTR team and medical affairs team knowledge and progress in the space.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Ph.D. in computational biology, statistics, bioinformatics, cancer biology, biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology or biostatistics or equivalent training and experience required.
+ Extensive knowledge in cancer biology of solid tumors, deep understanding of molecular genetics and familiarity with targeted and immune therapies in cancer treatment required.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and general working knowledge of Internet for business use.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Extensive knowledge in cancer, deep understanding of molecular genetics and familiarity with targeted and immune therapies in cancer treatment required.
+ Previous research experience in the molecular diagnostic field of oncology is preferred. Strong background in biostatistics or data science is preferred.
+ Understanding of clinical development and/or how translational research can impact decision making to the oncology asset journey is preferred.
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
+ Proven ability to work independently as well as in a team
+ Strong attention to detail, well-organized; proven ability to prioritize multiple projects and to meet strict deadlines.

As a **Pathology Research Technician,** you play a vital role in supporting pathologists and researchers in the study and diagnosis of diseases. Some of your responsibilities include preparing and cutting tissue samples for microscopic examination, applying special stains to highlight cellular structures, and perform various laboratory tests. POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for performing routine to complex autopsy and laboratory diagnostic and research procedures including histological slide preparation; cutting and staining paraffin-embedded and frozen sections. Leads a rapid-response autopsy team.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Performs various laboratory tests in accordance with standard practice. These include histological procedures such as tissue fixation, tissue sectioning on paraffin, cryostat and sliding freezing microtomes and staining sections with classical stains such as hematoxylin and eosin, silver stains such as Gallyas and Campbell-Switzer as well as with immunohistochemical methods. Labeling and filing of slides. Biochemical methods that are part of standard practice may include preparation of fresh and frozen single-cell suspensions, processing of cerebrospinal fluid and blood, western blotting, ELISA, RNA and DNA isolation and Bioanalyzer analysis.
2. Documents laboratory test results verbally, in personal laboratory notebook, in dedicated shared laboratory binders as well as on workflow files on the network computer (Excel spreadsheet).
3. Labware supplies and preparation including buffers, fixatives and stain components; cleaning of labware, including manual cleaning and dishwasher; ordering and maintaining lab supplies and autopsy supplies.
4. Performs duties for on-call brain autopsy program including carrying a cell phone and/or pager when on duty, responding by phone to calls 24/7 within 10 minutes of being called, reporting for duty at morgue within one and a half hours of being called, receiving the body from the transport company according to standard protocols, performing the role of brain team leader or body team leader, dissecting and processing the brain or body according to standard protocols, supervising an assistant during these protocols, and completing all documentation related to the autopsy. Responsible for updating information in the shared database.

**Job Overview**
We are currently seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and experienced individual for the position of **Senior Clinical Research Scientist.** This is an exciting opportunity to be a key contributor to the development and execution of the clinical strategy for one or more oncology programs. Through extensive interaction with the Clinical Research Team, this role will have the opportunity to make strategic and scientific impact on current and future clinical programs, building clinical expertise to collaboratively design, plan, implement, analyze, and report clinical studies.
**Job Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Contribute to and/or lead the design of clinical studies in close collaboration with the Clinical Research Team.
+ Monitor protocol compliance including assessment of inclusion and exclusion criteria, patient medical history, concomitant medications, and key safety and efficacy measures.
+ In collaboration with the Medical Lead, review protocol deviations to identify cause and appropriate resolution.
+ In collaboration with the Medical Lead, perform regular medical review of individual subject data.
+ Collaborate with the Clinical Research Team on the review, analysis, and interpretation of study results, including exploratory endpoints and assuring appropriate data review and accurate data reporting.
+ Provide scientific support by interpreting safety and efficacy results data, including gathering, analyzing, reviewing, interpreting, and providing preliminary assessments and recommendations.
+ In collaboration with the Clinical Research Team, contribute to database lock, statistical analysis plans, and preparation of Clinical Study Reports and other clinical documents.

+ Prior oncology drug development or oncology patient care experience preferred.
+ Experience in analysis and interpretation of clinical data (safety and efficacy) and a working knowledge of biostatistics, GCP, and regulatory requirements for clinical studies.
+ Experience with interacting with medical monitors, development operations (clinical operations, data management, program management, regulatory affairs, medical writing) and clinical investigators.
+ Patient profile and data listing review experience.
+ Up to date in new clinical trial designs in oncology.
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and scientific writing skills.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills and solid MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel, and analytical skills.

**Education and Experience**
+ Minimum of 5-8 years clinical research experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry or academic institution (clinical science, clinical operations, medical writing, clinical site staff, etc.).

+ BS/MS/PhD in a related life science discipline.
The base salary range for this role is $144,240 to $180,300. Base salary is part of our total rewards package which also includes the opportunity for merit-based salary increases, short incentive plan participation, eligibility for our 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances and leaves provided in line with your work state. Our robust time-off policy includes flexible paid time off, 11 paid holidays plus additional time off for a shut-down period during the last week of December, 80 hours of paid sick time upon hire and each year thereafter.
