We primarily serve low-income and justice-involved individuals who are seeking to change their life for the better.     Position Overview
    While providing group therapy, participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning, and will provide counseling through development of discharge planning and other Case Management activities while supporting the therapeutic assessments and modes of therapy utilized by behavioral health professionals to assist client with substance abuse issues.

    Counselor I’s work closely with case managers, clinicians, other BHTs, and clinical administration in the clinical department to provide high quality services to the OP population at Axiom Care. Those in this role provide direct services including psychoeducational group counseling, psychoeducational individual counseling, other therapeutic interventions in their scope, conduct biopsychosocial assessments, crisis intervention and discharge planning as needed. Indirect service includes meeting with their care team, attending oversight and training, completing other documentation as needed. Counselor I’s complete professional clinical documentation in the EMR and work with the billing department for all necessary utilization review tasks.

    Maintain strict adherence to state and local ethical standards and legal requirements at all times.
    Provide high quality, compassionate, and ethical substance abuse treatment to clients in group and individual settings.
    Develop client-driven individualized treatment plans and continually monitor treatment progress.
    Complete high-quality documentation of any service provided or other clinically pertinent information within 24 hours.
    Maintain good standing with the appropriate board, licensure, and insurance entities, if applicable
    Utilize CBT, motivational interviewing, positive psychology, trauma informed care and/or other evidenced based techniques within scope to help clients achieve their treatment goals.
