    Summary

    Nuclear Training Instructor

    The Operations Nuclear Training Instructor develops, maintains and delivers accredited training courses for employees in plant Operations at Palo Verde that comply with applicable NRC regulations and are consistent with INPO Accreditation Objectives and Criteria.

    Nuclear Training Instructor Sr

    The Sr Operations Nuclear Training Instructor develops, maintains, and delivers accredited licensed and/or non-licensed training programs for employees in plant Operations at Palo Verde that comply with applicable Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations and are consistent with INPO Accreditation Objectives and Criteria.

    Minimum Requirements

    Nuclear Training Instructor

    High school diploma/GED plus four (4) years of direct job-related technical experience as an operations department qualified nuclear equipment operator OR, two (2) years experience as an operations department qualified nuclear equipment operator or military/test reactor nuclear operator plus two (2) years experience as an operations training instructor (commercial, military or test reactor).

    Nuclear Training Instructor Sr

    High school diploma/GED and must hold or have held a Senior Reactor Operator/Reactor Operator (SRO/RO) license or SRO certification plus four (4) years experience in Operations and/or Operations Training positions (commercial, military or test reactor).

    Selected candidate will be required to obtain a SRO certification within six months.

    Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:

    Experience with the Systematic Approach to Training.

    Experience as a Naval Master Training Specialist.

    Experience with an accredited training program.

    Nuclear requirement:

    Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.

    5) Supervises students in all training settings to ensure standards of conduct prescribed on Nuclear Training Department procedures are met.

    Reinforces management standards and expectations in all training settings.

    6) Performs self-assessments and observations of line activities to identify strengths and weaknesses needing corrective action.

    Partners with line management to manage and monitor training programs.

    7) Mentors new instructors in the implementation of the Systematic Approach to Training in development of the ADDIE process (e.g., analysis, objectives, lesson materials, exam items).

    8) Interfaces with the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) during plant evaluations, Inspections and accreditation activities by ensuring the outside team has and understands the necessary information needed to accurately assess or inspect our programs to industry standards and guidelines.

    9) Performs specialized activities within the Vision and SWMS databases such as work assignment change notices, master task list changes and removal/granting of qualifications.

    10) Develops and evaluates training performance indicators to identify any potential gaps in training program performance.

    Develops actions necessary to close the identified gaps along with communicating program performance information to the line program owner.

    11) Attends and participates on Curriculum Review Committee by assisting with the creation of the agenda and supporting data that will be reviewed and discussed.

    12) Participates in root and apparent cause analyses to help identify potential training causes and/or corrective actions.
