    Summary This position will serve as a Police Officer at the Northern Arizona VA Healthcare System in Prescott, Arizona. The Police Officer will perform a full range of police duties by following and executing rules, regulations, or procedures covering law and rules enforcement, physical and personal security operations, patrol duties, control desk duty, coordination with local courts, and/or crime prevention activities for the local jurisdiction. Responsibilities This position will serve as a Police Officer at the Bob Stump VA Medical Center in Prescott, Arizona. The Police Officer will perform a full range of police duties by following and executing rules, regulations, or procedures covering law and rules enforcement, physical and personal security operations, patrol duties, control desk duty, coordination with local courts, and/or crime prevention activities for the local jurisdiction. Duties will include but are not limited to: Protects the civil rights of all individuals on VA controlled property; Prevents, detect and investigate crimes; Patrols assigned areas on foot or by motor vehicle; Subdues persons causing disturbance or who threaten harm to themselves or others; Follows rules/procedures concerning search and seizure of evidence and contraband; Obtains search and arrest warrants; Arrests violators; Provides basic first aid and CPR prior to arrival of emergency medical personnel; Prepares report of activities and events that occurred during shift; Performs traffic control; and Assists citizens in emergency situations; Performs other related duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Sunday through Saturday; 12 hour rotating shifts. Compressed/Flexible Schedule. Candidates must be willing to work weekends, irregular work hours and extended hours if determined by the needs of the service.     POSITION SUMMARY

    2. Responds to all emergency codes for assistance and control. As a team, the officer and K9 patrols and inspects facility and grounds frequently to assist in maintaining a safer and more secure environment. Assists employees with security related matters, mediate disputes, conduct interviews, conduct searches, enforces parking regulations and traffic control. Serves as a security subject matter expert.

    3. Provide daily care of the K9 to include feeding, exercising, grooming, medical care, and cleaning of the K9’s kennel. Keep the K9 physically fit through training and exercise. Keep the K9 at an acceptable level of readiness to be able to pass K9 evaluations. May perform public demonstrations as a K9 team. Maintains accurate K9 training logs and monthly activities.

    5. Maintains current knowledge of applicable laws and regulations. Performs “citizen arrest” and demonstrate critical thinking skills during extremely stressful situations as needed.

    7. Investigates and completes written reports of complaints, critical security incidents and unusual activities involving patients, employees and visitors.     8. Professionally testifies in criminal court, state hearings and review boards when required.

    9. Position reports directly to the Associate Manager, Tactical Operations Unit (TOU), or OIC in their absence. This position interacts internally with staff, physicians, visitors, volunteers and patients. External customers are law enforcement agencies and emergency service agencies. The position is system wide and officers may be assigned to work at any facility as needed. This position will provide guidance and direction to staff, visitors and patients during a security emergency. This position will be required to proactively identify, deter and respond to security incidents.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Must maintain required security certifications. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.

    Must possess strong knowledge and understanding of security as normally obtained by a minimum of three years law enforcement, military experience or seven years of hospital security experience.

    Must possess the ability to make accurate observations and exercise good independent judgment in a variety of situations (including emergencies).     About The Position:
    City of Scottsdale Police Officers are responsible for protecting life and property, preventing, deterring and investigating crime, enforcing laws and responding to citizen requests through the use of community policing strategies to engage and educate the community.

    A Police Officer Lateral is someone who has current Arizona P.O.S.T. Peace Officer Certification.

    A Police Officer Waiver is an applicant who meets the following conditions:
    •Has successfully graduated from a United States or U.S. Territory approved basic Police Officer training academy;

    •Has at least one year of post academy experience as a certified peace officer in municipal policing within the United States, or U.S. Territories, within the last 3 years.

    Grand Canyon University’s Police Department is seeking full time Police Sergeant. The Police Sergeant is role for providing supervisory and enforcement skills in the commissioned law enforcement services at Grand Canyon University. This role is responsible for supervising police personnel engaged in law enforcement duties associated with the protection, safety, and welfare of students, employees, visitors, and property within the area under the control and jurisdiction of Grand Canyon University.

    What you will do:

    + Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise and review the work of sworn law enforcement staff involved in traffic and campus patrol, investigations, crime prevention, community relations and related services and activities.

    + Prepare, process, and maintain a variety of written reports and records pertaining to assigned activities, e.g., daily activity reports,

    + Review incident reports, required forms, summons, records, and related documents prepared by subordinates to ensure accuracy and timely completion; correct or instruct officers to make corrections.

    + Interpret, convey, and ensure implementation of policies, procedures, and methods; ensure all personnel have clear guidelines of authority and responsibility.

    + Approve and submit timesheets, and payroll information for Campus Police Officers.

    + Enforce state laws, rules and regulations governing safety and security on college campus and at college events and ensures compliance with CLERY Act, VAWA and Title 9 related requirements.

    + Participate in shift activities as necessary including enforcing local and state laws; issue citations and make arrests.

    + Develop or assist in the development of training of new Police Officers, ensuring that all officers receive their annual training hours as mandated by P.O.S.T. and that their annual firearms training and range time is up to date.

    + May coordinate and/or conduct campus safety education and training for police officers, faculty, staff, and students. This may include coordinating the active shooter exercises each year as well as any other emergency management response training.

    + Respond to fires, natural disasters, or other hazardous events; Coordinate disaster response or crisis management activities such as opening shelters, special needs programs and evacuation.

    + Escort or drives motor vehicle to transport individuals to specified locations and to provide personal protection.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    What you need:

    + Have a minimum of 60 college credit hours or an associate degree from an accredited college/university in criminal justice, police science, public administration, political science, or similar discipline.

    + 5 Years’ experience as AZ post certified peace officer; active within last 3 years (Minimum of 2 in supervisory role)

    Summary You will serve as a LEAD POLICE OFFICER (DESK/PATROL SARGEANT) in the Provost Marshal Office/Marine Corps Police Department of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION YUMA. Responsibilities You will perform duties as a Lead Police Officer to Field Training Officers and police officers and assists the Watch Commander in carrying out responsibilities of supervising the patrol shift, which provides 24-hour law enforcement services. You will instruct Field Training Officers, trainees, and police officers in specific officer tasks and techniques, and provide written instructions, reference materials and supplies to assist in the instruction given. You will provide technical advice and guidance to police officers on the enforcement of laws, rules, and regulations. You will inspect the overall physical security of the areas, evaluate situations and conditions, identify deficiencies, and recommend or take appropriate corrective actions. You will distribute and balance the workload and rotations of Field Training Officers and police officers, assure work is finished by the end of the shift, and ensure police officers perform the work according to department guidelines. You will assist in the planning and directing of watch activities for assigned areas. Prepare absentee reports and watch schedules/lists for the following day. You will ensure that all two-day radio communications fall under DoD, DoN, USMC and Federal Communication Commission Rules Policy and Procedures.     Grand Canyon University’s Police Department is seeking full time Seasonal Police Officers to ensure the safety and security of the GCU campus. The GCU Police Department performs general and specialized police work involving the enforcement of laws and ordinances, crime prevention, and other community services. GCU Police Officers serve a very positive and supportive campus community.

    What you will do:

    + Patrols assigned areas of Grand Canyon University owned properties, by automobile, foot or bicycle, for the prevention of crime and enforcement of all applicable criminal, traffic, and liquor laws and City Ordinances.

    + Responds to calls for service involving crimes such as thefts, robberies, assaults, homicides, and narcotics violations. Responds to all calls for service including those that do not involve crimes but are civil or societal issues requested police presence.

    + Secures the scene of a crime; makes arrests; books suspects. Prepares reports to accurately document information.

    + Responds to hazardous materials incidents and traffic accidents; investigates traffic accidents; detects impaired drivers; administers first aid; directs traffic and requests medical assistance.

    + Participate in problem-oriented policing efforts by identifying problem areas, recommending and implementing solutions, and monitoring the results. Handle hostage negotiations; performs suicide prevention interventions; transports mentally ill patients.

    + Serves court orders (e.g., subpoenas), arrest warrants, and mental health orders.

    + Performs other related duties as assigned.

    What you need:

    + High school diploma, or equivalent.

    + Minimum of 5 years as a Police Officer. (At the discretion of the Chief, years of service can be waived.)

    + Must have Arizona Post Certification, either active or inactive. Must continuously meet all requirements and standards of AZ POST.

    + Must have valid Arizona Driver’s License and be insurable.

    + Ability to obtain and maintain ACJIS Terminal Operator’s Certification.

    + Must successfully pass a physical exam, polygraph test, psychological assessment, physical agility test, background investigation, and drug test.

    + Ability to work four 10-hour shifts per week; overtime, holiday, weekend and shift work (days, swings or graveyard shifts).

    + Occasional risk includes physical hazards from violent, aggressive and hostile people, a variety of weapons, bodily fluids, sharp objects, traffic, drugs and drug paraphernalia and civil litigation due to performance of duties also creating high stress situations.
