+ SAFELY works to dig, lay and backfill many different sizes and types of pipe including C-900, Schedule 40 and 80, HDPP, CMP, RCP, Ductile Iron, valve assemblies, fire hydrants, copper etc.
+ Must have solid knowledge of installing all wet and dry utilities to include water, sewer, electrical, storm drain etc.
+ Sets and checks grades for sewer lines down to the hundredth, manholes, pump stations etc.
+ Assures proper moisture of backfill materials to maximize compaction.
+ MAY operate equipment and perform trench work for installing pipe using everything from large excavators to small compaction equipment to complete the job.
+ Qualified candidates should also be able to labor or operate other heavy equipment if there is no pipe work.
QUALIFICATIONS - Pipe Layer:
+ Prefer a minimum of 2 or more years of experience with pipe laying (dig, lay, backfill operations).
+ Be physically qualified for lifting and moving heavy items, agile, and able to walk over rough, uneven terrain, etc. (full job description available from our HR Department).
+ Uses ladders for accessing pipe trench/able to set and work inside trench boxes.
+ Have knowledge of using laser levels, builder’s Level and engineers tape measure.
+ Must be a team player, self-starter and should be familiar with city, county and state MAG/YAG codes.
+ Not all positions require the operation of heavy construction equipment.
+ Transitional training may be available for the right candidates.
Pipe Layers at Fann Contracting may be required to work throughout the entire state of Arizona and often stay on or near their assigned projects (out of town) 4 to 5 days per week. Use of your own personal vehicle will be necessary (travel pay is available for certain projects). Overtime can be frequent due to project/schedule needs.

As a Warehouse Assistant, you’ll receive, stock, pull, distribute, ship and track materials, tools, and equipment.
