    Banner Estrella Medical Center (BEMC) was built in 2005 in west Phoenix to meet the health care needs of a growing West Valley community.     As an Electrician, you will collaborate and help to grow the culture of innovation, accountability, and teamwork. You will support our maintenance and central plant teams with electrical work order requests and projects. Work will be in clean and dirty environments (i.e. Operating rooms, mechanical rooms, public corridors, patient rooms), both indoor and outdoor (i.e. rooftop, parking garages, etc.). You will perform preventative maintenance (PM) on all electrical gear and/or assist leadership in project management with Electrical PM scheduling. You will also cover maintenance needs in the absence of Maintenance Technicians.

    **Schedule will be Monday-Friday, 6am-2:30pm. NOTE: Special projects and preventative maintenance will mandate for work on night shifts and weekends.**

    POSITION SUMMARY

    This position is responsible for electrical maintenance, construction, and repair including but not limited to switchboards, lighting devices, and modification of existing electrical instillations to the medical center electrical distribution system. Reviews contracted electrical work for code compliance and compatibility to existing electrical components. Conducts regular tests and maintains all required documentation for the operation of the hospital emergency generators. Works with and assists other trades in completing required tasks.

    CORE FUNCTIONS

    1. Installs, designs, and maintains new electrical wiring, panel boards, switchgear, fuses, lighting fixtures and their associated control circuits, heating devices, motors and motor control centers. Ensures strict adherence to all safety rules and regulations. Performs electrical duties working on various voltages up to 480v. Keeps the designated Facilities Services manager informed as to the needs and / or changes required to keep the facilities electrical systems operating in a safe and well maintained condition.

    2. Maintains, repairs, and modifies electrical circuits utilizing various meters and test equipment. Coordinates the preventative maintenance of all electrical distribution systems, including the emergency generators in order to ensure the integrity and reliability of the emergency electrical distribution system. Monitors and modifies the electrical PM program to assure maximum effectiveness; provides all required and appropriate documentation.

    3. Works with all other divisions and departments to meet the facility electrical maintenance, installation and construction needs; negotiates priorities, plans work schedules and job assignments. Orders needed material, parts and supplies. Recommends use of outside electrical specialty contractors as appropriate. Oversees and monitors outside electrical specialty contractors to assure compliance with established hospital standards.

    4. Troubleshoots and monitors electrical maintenance repair work, alterations and renovation upgrades to the facilities electrical systems. As assigned, monitors electrical construction, installation and commissioning activities. Monitors systems and installation processes to ensure the integrity of assigned Life Safety systems.

    5. Maintains stock levels of materials and parts at an appropriate level within budgetary constraints. Maintains electrical repair and replacement schedules and records to keep within the projected budget. Reviews materials to ensure the quality of all components for electrical installations during construction and remodel projects. Provides input to the designated Facilities Services manager.

    6. Maintains facility compliance with all applicable Authorities Having Jurisdiction including local, state, federal and all other regulatory codes pertaining to any and all components of the facilities electrical distribution systems. Attends annual code compliance and update training.

    7. Incumbents in this position work independently under general supervision and fulfill responsibilities using specialized skills and knowledge. This position interacts with a wide variety of individuals including staff, co-workers, patients, physicians, visitors, regulatory agencies, surveyors, inspectors, contractors, and vendors. This position is facility based and has no budgetary responsibilities.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Must have a current license as required by the state or authorities having jurisdiction. Requires working knowledge and certification as required of applicable regulatory codes and State and local building codes.

    Some facilities or departments, depending on business need, may require proof of a valid driver’s license and eligibility for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.

    This position requires knowledge and skills normally demonstrated with at least 3 years of diversified work experience as an electrician. Must have working knowledge of electrical systems and components common to the healthcare environment. Must be able to exercise independent decision making and judgment in the performance of all duties. Requires the ability to work safely and effectively with all voltages up to 480v. Must be proficient in reading and understanding related and required maintenance and construction documents. Good verbal and written communication skills are required.

    Be a part of a team that supports testing highly complex turbine engine products. As an Electrician here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems. The Electrical Services team is responsible for fabricating, maintaining, and testing electrical systems and components to support the development and certification across Honeywell’s product line of aircraft engines.     RESPONBILITIES

    + Maintaining test cell equipment (480VAC pumps, motors, panels)

    MUST HAVE

    + 5+ years experience in an electrician role performing electrical maintenance

    + 2+year electrical apprenticeship

    Grand Canyon University! One of Arizona’s leading institutions of higher learning. Located in the Valley of Sun in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona, GCU is a regionally accredited, private, nondenominational Christian University.

    GCU Facilities manages and services all university-owned property. By the development and maintenance of the GCU campus and surrounding areas, the GCU Facilities team aims to support and ensure the accomplishment of the university’s mission. By working creatively and collaboratively, the Facilities team fulfills the needs of the university by successfully managing resources while delivering excellent customer service.

    Grand Canyon University is currently seeking a fulltime Electrician. The Electrician is responsible for the installation and repair of electrical systems and components in existing GCU owned buildings.

    Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 12pm-9pm

    What you will do:

    + Plans layout, installs, and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels, fastening in place with screws or bolts, using hand tools and power tools.

    + Install, maintain, modify, and repair all electrical distribution systems and associated electrical equipment.

    + Remain in compliance with current National Electric Code

    + Inspect and test components of electrical systems, including transformers, transfer switches and switches gears.

    + Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices.

    + Able to identify issues and take corrective measures to fix problems with electrical components.

    + Obtains price quotations on materials needed; submits purchasing orders for approval.

    + Effectively handles electrical installation/repair work orders and completes on schedule.

    + Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

    + Observes safety and security procedures; Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.

    + Utilizes work order system to record detailed handling of scheduled assignment including hours needed to complete assignment.

    + Part of a rotating list of on-call personnel.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    What you need:

    + High School Diploma or equivalent required.

    + Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an electrician, minimum experience in working with commercial electrical systems at least 2 years.

    + Hold licensure/certification as a journeyman electrician preferred.

    + Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

    + Must be available to work on call shifts as assigned.

    + Must successfully pass a background check.

    + Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the role which require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and carrying of electrical components and other materials required for repair or installation.
