    **Job Title: Industrial Painter**

    **Job Description**

    As an Industrial Painter, you will play a crucial role in preparing, applying, and maintaining high-quality coatings on various surfaces. You will be responsible for both sandblasting and painting tasks, ensuring that all surfaces are adequately prepared and coated according to project specifications. This position requires a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

    **Responsibilities**

    + Develop a daily work plan, prioritizing tasks and organizing resources for sandblasting projects.

    + Maintain a clean and organized blast bay, including closing curtains and clearing obstructions.

    + Conduct daily cleaning of the blast booth to meet Air Quality Department inspection standards.

    + Perform regular inspections and maintenance of sandblasting equipment, troubleshooting and coordinating repairs as necessary.

    + Understand and adhere to specific job requirements, accurately sandblasting designated parts.

    + Maintain precise records of piece counts and time spent on each job for project management and billing purposes.

    + Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and relevant personnel to ensure smooth project execution.

    + Use a wet film thickness gauge for coating applications.

    + Inspect and prepare surfaces by removing old paint, dirt, or debris, and repairing imperfections.

    + Mix and apply primer, paint, and coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.

    + Monitor drying times and apply additional coats as needed.

    + Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment, disposing of waste materials according to regulations.

    + Stay informed on industry trends and participate in training sessions to improve skills.

    **Essential Skills**

    + 3+ years of experience in industrial painting and sandblasting.

    + 1+ years of experience with cementitious waterproofing coatings.

    + Proficient in surface preparation, including confined spaces and industrial tanks.

    + Knowledgeable in SSPC-Surface Preparation and NACE Abrasive standards.

    + Experience with carbon steel water tank reservoirs and applying coatings using plural spray systems.

    + Ability to troubleshoot and repair field equipment.

    **Additional Skills & Qualifications**

    + Ability to identify and achieve SP-1,2,3,5,6,7,10,11,13,15 standards.

    + Experience in blasting 150 sq/ft to an SP-10 in 1 hour.

    + Knowledge of airless spray tip numbers and their significance.

    + Experience with plural pump applications, concrete coatings, and products such as Sauereisen and Tnemec.

    **Work Environment**

    Work primarily takes place in heavy industrial facilities, including waste water treatment plants and reclamation facilities. Tasks may involve working in confined spaces and at heights, with access points ranging from 24” to 26” and dry wells 12' to 14' in diameter. Work is conducted primarily during the first shift from Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays required. Employees are provided with necessary tools and PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, safety vests, and full face respirators. It is important for employees to maintain and care for their equipment properly.

    **Job Type & Location**

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, Arizona.

    **Pay and Benefits**

    The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
