**Description**
A Line Electrician safely performs duties relating to the construction and maintenance of high and low voltage power transmission lines and related structures and system components.
+ Perform duties associated with the extension and cutback of power lines and various distribution service lines for the site, mine, mobile equipment and substations
+ Tasks may include but are not limited to test, frame, and set poles; string electric power lines, install cross arms and anchors, replaces switches, and circuit protection equipment, etc.
+ Perform power line and system preventative maintenance
+ Troubleshoot system faults on power distribution lines
+ Perform construction and maintenance of high or low voltage electric power lines and structures
+ May install and maintain:
+ Distribution transmissions systems including substations, substation equipment, single and banked transformers and services
+ General area lighting and perform maintenance of single and banked transformers and services
+ Secondary and primary customer metering
+ Mentor or train other electrical workers and perform as a Fill-In Supervisor as needed
+ May perform groundman duties such as gathering materials, running equipment, etc.

**Qualifications**
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Completion of an approved Lineman Apprentice program, OR
+ Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Lineman, OR
+ Associate’s degree or Trade School Certification in a related field and two (2) years of experience in overhead and underground power distribution, construction, maintenance and repair
+ Valid State Driver’s License with the ability to obtain a CDL certification within 90 days of hire date
+ Knowledge of rubber gloving, sticking, and livewire maintenance
+ Must be proficient in lock out, tag out, try out (LOTOTO)
+ Ability to work out of a bucket for long periods of time
+ Adequate score on Companywide assessment test to demonstrate knowledge
+ Proficiency in troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of overhead power distribution of electrical circuits and connected equipment, focusing on low and medium voltage; this includes the ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals, prints, and schematics for trouble shooting and repair
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills
+ Knowledge of NFPA-70E arc flash electrical safety standards
+ Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.

Determines and places distribution panels, boxes, fittings, and connections and install wiring, couplings, conduit, relays, fixtures, transformers, and other electrical devices including electrical service entrances. 3.Conduct training for other employees in the preventive maintenance, electrical safety, and servicing of all electrical systems and equipment. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement, cost savings, productivity/efficiency improvements and safety improvements. 4.Collaborates with architects and engineers to identify discrepancies between blueprints and on-site conditions, ensuring accurate project execution. Works with projects teams to ensure projects were completed on schedule and within budget. 5.Designs and development of various electrical systems and controllers. Performs site audits and inspections. Engages in all phases of new product introduction, including concept. Incumbent troubleshoots, repairs, and conducts preventive maintenance on motor control centers. Performs preventive maintenance as scheduled or required on electrical equipment as recommended by the manufacturer and on site safety programs. Ensures all work meets prescribed standards of quality and ensures compliance with all laws, safety procedures, policies and codes. Inspects electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair. Monitors performance of equipment and informs management of any potential problems. Interprets and applies the National Electrical Code, local codes, etc., and uses trade formulas to calculate common properties. The work requires frequently lifting and carrying of tools, equipment and parts that weigh up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds. As part of medical surveillance programs, the incumbent may be required to take medical examinations to assess his/her medical qualifications for the position of Electrician. Working conditions: The work is performed both inside and outside. The Electrician is sometimes required to make repairs and installations in bad weather and work in areas that are noisy, dirty, dusty, and greasy on scaffolding or cranes at heights of 30 feet or more and in close quarters such as manholes and attics. There is exposure to the possibility of injury from falling, electrical shock, burns, and injuries from rotary devices such as electrical motors and is frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts and bruises. JOB DESCRIPTION
As anApprenticeElectricianyou will work under the guidance of a Journeyman level electrician assisting in the installation, alteration, addition, and/or repair of electrical systems on commercial work sites. The ideal candidate will be working towards a career in the trade with Facility Solutions Group.
AnApprentice Electricianwill:
+ Gather tools and supplies to be used at work site.
+ Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit.
+ Trace out short circuits in wiring.
+ Assist in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects such as wiring, conduit, and motors.
+ Maintain tools and equipment and keeps supplies and parts in order.
+ Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
+ Help in securing, relocating and organizing materials, small tools, and equipment from and back to appropriate storage areas.
+ Keep work area clean by collecting and disposing of scrap, excess materials, and refuse.
+ Assists in pulling wire, lifting, hoisting and positioning materials.
+ May operate hand tools and equipment under direct supervision of a Foreman or more senior electrician.
+ Assists in mounting and strapping conduit.
+ Assists more senior personnel in electrical installations, connections, and terminations under close supervision.
+ Performs other project related duties and assignments as instructed by supervisor.
+ An apprentice electrician will not work on energized circuits or equipment.
