    **The Role**

    We have an immediate opening for **Field Technician II** **.** The Field Technician II may be required to perform a variety of different functions based on the need of the geographic area. Under minimal supervision and utilizing established guidelines, procedures, and/or policies the Technician is responsible to effectively perform all functions required for Field Tech I. Responsible for installation, decommissioning and troubleshooting problems of network equipment and circuits. This includes the fiber, transport equipment and all critical infrastructures within. Demonstrates a degree of experience with circuit provisioning, maintenance & testing (DS1/DS3/SONET), test equipment, telecommunication equipment installation and acceptance. Responsible for the outside plant network in each geographic boundary, including metro and long-haul fibers.​

    **Work Location**

    This is an onsite work location for Arizona and New Mexico. The office locations are 1255 W Glenn St. Tucson and 400 Tijeras Ave NW Albuquerque.

    **The Main Responsibilities**

    + Troubleshoots network equipment, removes/replaces defective equipment, and works with appropriate resources to isolate and ultimately restore network. Proactively identify potential problem areas to ensure integrity of the network and company. Assist other personnel to complete these activities when needed.

    + Performs the installation/change/decommission and testing of Next Generation technologies such as Edge Compute, Wavelength services, Fiber Optic Transport, Ethernet, SONET, and IP network layers for all available bandwidths offered. Required to install and test network and customer equipment (CPE) including installation and delivery of all end user services. Assist other personnel to complete these activities when needed.

    + AC Power (on limited basis)

    + DC power installs including tertiary and BDCBB.

    + Large Netbuild management (PM Duties)

    + Utilizes industry standard software and hardware to accurately locate, mark, and protect underground outside plant facilities without error.

    + Responsible for asset management processes and replenishment of on-site/truck materials. Coordinates shipping and receiving of company and customer materials. Maintains tools, test sets, and all network equipment. Assist other personnel to complete these activities when needed.

    + Performs level 1 preventive scheduled maintenance and inspections on network and critical infrastructure equipment including HVAC systems, high-voltage electrical systems, and DC power plants. Assist other personnel to complete these activities when needed.

    + Proficient in all the systems and applications required to perform the job function adequately. Update/report inventory records changes, complete transactional updates within systems to show appropriate activities by job type, enter appropriate time log, and responsive to requests for information/escalations. Regularly provides status updates and reports problem situations related to assignments to management. Assist other personnel to complete these activities when needed.

    **What We Look For in a Candidate**

    + 2+ years’ experience working of Installation, Test, and Turn-up of a variety of Telecommunication equipment including SONET, DCS, DWDM, Routers and Switches.

    + Strong technical and mechanical background with experience on the latest generation transport gear, critical infrastructure (HVAC systems, high-voltage electrical systems, DC Power Plants, etc.), as well as knowledge of locating fiber optic cable, right-of-way, and As-Builts.

    + Must have a high degree of experience and/or knowledge of at least two of the four major technician disciplines: Transmission (DS1/DS3/SONET), Switching (circuit-switching/SS7), TCP/IP (routers/higher-layer protocols), and Outside Plant (Fiber locating, OTDR, Mass Fusion Splicing, etc.).

    + Some technical evaluation and fundamental judgment is required, while building an internal and external network.

    + Must maintain site security and cleanliness.

    + Must have PC skills and be well versed in Microsoft Windows and Office applications.

    + Ability to quickly learn corporate databases.

    + On-call 24x7 on a rotational basis, on stand-by, call out, dispatch, and overtime are required as dictated by the business.

    + Promote teamwork to deliver on time and accurate guest care during all operating hours

    + Demonstrate excellent guest service, which includes providing clear communication and feedback about guest vehicles

    + Ensure that the service center is clean and presentable

    + Provide guidance and mentoring to junior and mid-level automotive technicians

    + Checking and communicating oil level to other teammates

    + Ensure tire pressure for proper inflation

    + Perform various manual tasks for extended periods, including light and heavy lifting, including consumer tires and wheels, standing, bending, and squatting.

    Qualifications

    + Previous experience is preferred but not required.

    + You must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

    + Be able to speak effectively with our guests and other teammates.

    + Must be able to stand on your feet on hard surfaces like concrete or metal

    + Expect to work in an environment in which you frequently experience hot and cold temperatures, loud noises, and exhaust fumes

    + Must be able to lift and move work-related items up to 50 pounds

    + Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

    + Must be at least 18 years of age

    + Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future
