What You Will Do

+ Performs fabrication, assembly, installation, diagnosis, repair and modification on hydraulic, pneumatic, refrigeration, vacuum, and gas systems associated with test equipment.

+ Performs functional and operational tests to check out new and/or repaired units.

+ Coordinates with engineers in planning, laying out and making mechanical modifications to test positions and units according to accepted standard practices in order to develop more practical arrangements in this equipment from a functional or service standpoint.

+ Furnishes supplementary sketches or diagrams to aid in accomplishing such mechanical modifications, as required.

+ Makes written reports of all tests and recommends refinements in test equipment and maintenance procedures.

+ Performs periodic preventive maintenance, as directed.

+ Performs brazing, soft and silver soldering, minor sheet metal work, incidental to the work described herein.

+ Uses hand tools such as micrometers, dial calipers, indicators, height gauges, and operates portable power tools and machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, pedestal grinders, drill presses, band saws, and belt sanders etc. incidental to the work described herein.

+ Works from primary design drawings, prints, schematic flow diagrams, sketches or the other diagrams, verbal and/or written instructions requiring considerable interpretation and application of shop theory in visualizing and determining the most practical procedure to follow for the work described herein.

+ Performs related computer and clerical functions such as operating the shop floor control system, documenting equipment scheduling and maintenance records, requesting supplies, materials, and reporting of machines for repair.

+ Reworks, refurbishes, and modifies parts and equipment as required for the work described herein.

Qualifications You Must Have

+ High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED).

+ Must be able to work any designated shift to include overnight.

+ Three (3) years experience in the layout, fabrication, assembly, checking, and testing of hydraulic, vacuum, pneumatic and refrigeration mechanical and electromechanical equipment.

+ Must also possess machine shop skills such as setting up and operating conventional lathes, mills, drills, and pedestal grinders.

+ Must have worked from blueprints, primary design drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.

+ Must have visualized and determined the most practical fabrication of the apparatus or equipment and the materials to be assembled.

+ Must pass qualifying and/or practical test.

+ The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. secret clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Job Summary

Roles and Responsibilities

+ Maintains, inspects, and repairs the site’s electrical system automatic transfer switches for all sites, and monitors electrical connections on site generators.

+ Maintains and repairs low voltage (600 volts and below) real property electrical systems to the code that it was installed.

+ Maintains and repairs the electrical systems (600 volts and below) on feeder circuits from the main lugs (secondary bushings) on the load side of pad mounted transformers for underground systems, and the standard utility connection point of an overhead riser or meter loop, transformers, streetlights, grounding equipment, electrical manholes, and other systems on-site.

+ Responsible for inspecting, maintenance, repairing and preventive maintenance on sites Power Quality, Ground Support Equipment, Fire and Safety Hazards, Lighting Standards, Comprehensive Electrical System Surveys, Electrical System Inspections.

+ Install, repair, replace, modify, test, and maintain fire alarm systems, the disaster warning system, and intrusion alarm systems to maintain proper operational capability IAW UFC 3-601-02, NFPA, and the original equipment manufacturer's instructions.

+ Performs installation, operation, maintenance, repairs, and disposal of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems.

+ Must have mandatory knowledge on the principles of HVAC/R systems, controls, and components.

+ Should have the ability to interpret drawings and schematics.

+ Must know and be able to apply the fundamentals of HVAC/R equipment and troubleshooting techniques, and environmental regulations for fuels, refrigerants, and hazardous materials.

+ May explain instructions and documentation to plan work activities.

**Job Title:** Journeyman HVAC Mechanic - (CISH)

**Job Summary :** EMCOR Facilities Services has an immediate need for a HVAC Journeyman Mechanic in Phoenix, AZ. The HVAC Mechanic trouble shoots, repairs, installs, and performs preventative maintenance on all the HVAC systems within the Central Utilities Plant (CUP), and throughout the hospital related to the contract by performing the following duties. This is a journeyman position and requires mechanical, electrical, and plumbing aptitudes. The schedule is 7:30am - 4:00pm.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

+ Monitors safe and efficient operations of HVAC/refrigeration systems in accordance with departmental requirements; corrects deficiencies according to PM/CM and manufacturers specifications.

+ Conducts preventive and corrective maintenance on all HVAC and refrigeration systems, as well as fan coil or dx units, and other equipment as assigned.

+ Installs and services new HVAC/refrigeration equipment. Perform all aspects of repairs to Air Handling Units (AHU) to include filter replacement, bearing replacement, motor replacement, belt replacement and proper alignment in accordance to OEM procedures.

+ Coordinates inspections, repairs and installation in consultation with staff in affected areas to minimize disruption of operations.

+ Complete Work Order and Preventative Maintenance (PM) paperwork in a timely and professional manner. Participates in the computerized maintenance management system for work and equipment documentation

+ Participate in the building management system. Monitor design parameters for status and efficiency. Assist in programming recommendations for the system.

+ Track refrigerant loss, procurement, and storage per government standards.

+ Install, maintain and repair all field devices for the Temperature Tracking System.

+ Participate in the testing of HVAC shutdown by duct smoke detectors.

+ Performs heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) maintenance on air conditioning units, fans, air handlers, water heaters, converters, duct work and system controls.

+ Request assistance from plumbers, painters, electricians, carpenters, and Building Engineers when necessary.

+ Coordinates inspections, repairs, and installation with staff and tenants in affected areas to minimize disruption of CNRIC operations.

+ Ensures compliance with department safety and quality standards to optimize effective utilization of resources and productivity.

+ Follow and implement standard Lock Out Tag Out procedures.

+ Complete Corrective Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance (PM) work orders in a timely and professional manner.
