**Normal Minimum Requirements:**

+ Must have completed an accredited Lineman/Cableman Apprenticeship Program or equivalent and must provide necessary documentation

+ Must possess or be able to attain a valid Arizona Class A Commercial Driver’s License

Job Description

Applies working electrical and mechanical knowledge to operate and perform routine maintenance on various ballistic electronics measuring and firing safety devices and their peripheral equipment. Provides operations and preventative maintenance on various electronic measuring and data acquisition systems, to include but not limited to, system setup, electrical instrumentation, tear-down, and transportation throughout Yuma Proving Ground (YPG). Performs other duties as required to complete the assigned mission. Mentors junior technicians. May guide a small team of technicians. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Qualifications

Pay Rate: 31.10Education/Licenses/Certifications/Experience Requirements:* Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.* Must have one of the following five (5) years electro-mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation related experience, OR Associate’s Degree or Military training and three (3) years of directly related experience.* Experience using test equipment like multi-meters and oscilloscopes. Job Skills Requirements: * Must possess basic computer skills.* Must be proficient with hand tools. * Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.* Knowledge of the capabilities, limitations, operations, design, characteristics, and functional use of a variety of types and models of electronic measuring and data acquisition systems.* Perform post data reduction & system maintenance. What to expect: As an Electronic Technician for this critical program, candidates will be expected to perform a variety of in-depth technical functions required in the maintenance and repair of security equipment and systems. This position is offering the opportunity for a flexible schedule up to 39 hours per week. All candidates must be willing and able to travel as job requires, travel can be expected most of the time.

The Electronic Technicians will be involved in troubleshooting, replacing components and wiring circuits; repairing electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers and oscilloscopes.

The work requires knowledge of basic and advanced electrical and electronic principles as they pertain to security systems and equipment installed at facilities.

Additionally, candidates must have the ability to:

+ Understand and follow technical guidance such as circuitry and layouts where available.

+ Ability to locate, repair or replace equipment as required

+ Troubleshoot complex security systems, hardware and software

+ Independently assess and resolve security system problems.

+ Ability to configure computers, communications devices and peripheral equipment and to provide in-depth technical assistance to other technicians when called upon to assist in corrective maintenance and restoration activities.

Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of 8 years experience installing or maintaining ESS equipment. Specific experience with Johnson Controls P2000, Lenel OnGuard, Pelco, Genetec or Milestone are highly sought after and preferred.

Contract Requirements:

+ The technician must possess at least 8 years of experience installing or maintaining ESS equipment, to include video surveillance systems, access control systems, intercoms, intrusion detection systems, and security gates.

+ Experience specifically with Johnson Controls P2000, Lenel OnGuard, Pelco, Genetec, or Milestone is preferred.

+ Successful completion an associate's degree in a technical related field or in lieu of education requirement at least 12 years of related experience.

+ Knowledge of OSHA general safety standards and the proper care and usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

+ Candidate must be able to obtain a moderate suitability investigation prior to start work.

+ Requires 100% travel throughout the larger metro area and travel to neighboring states (up to 20%).
