**Where You Will Work**
Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open-pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode.

**Description**
Under the direction of the Aquatics Specialist, perform assistance, training and supervision to Lifeguards/Swim Instructors as required. Maintain and develop a comprehensive swim lesson program at the pool. Perform public safety work in preventing injuries in the municipal pool facility.
+ Supervise and evaluate Lifeguard/Swim Instructing staff, manage pool deck area and its patrons
+ Perform a variety of duties including teaching swim lessons, constant observance of patrons, enforcement of safety rules and regulations, and administration of first aid and/or artificial resuscitation
+ Train Lifeguards/swim Instructors and Pool Aides in the policies, rules and regulations governing the use of the pool facilities
+ Responsible for the completion of all pool deck work (i.e., cleaning decks, gutters, guardhouse, diving boards, vacuuming, etc.)
+ Responsible for all aspects of running a comprehensive public swim lesson program and competitive swimming program
+ Prepare and maintain swimming schedules and training records
+ Assist in the conduct of special swimming activities
+ Keep accurate records of all essential functions related to the job
+ Handle all patron and pool problems in an efficient, timely and proper manner according to established procedures
+ Function as a lead part of a crew within an emergency plan for the handling of accidents in pool areas
+ Perform other duties as required
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Three (3) months (one (1)season) of lifeguarding experience
+ American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR, AED Certifications
+ Knowledge of lifeguarding
+ Experience running swim programs
**Preferred**
+ High School diploma or GED
+ Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification
**Criteria/Conditions**
+ Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
+ Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards

**What We Offer You**
The estimated pay range for this role is currently **$17.55 - $24.60/hour.** This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
