    SUMMARY:

    ASSA ABLOY is seeking a CNC Machinist to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for machining production parts and reworking out-of-spec supplier parts to print dimensions using appropriate equipment, tools, and processes. Depending on your experience, you may also build fixtures for assembly and prototypes for engineering.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily:

    + Read, understand, and communicate blueprint detail

    + CNC programming of multi-axis vertical and horizontal mills and machining centers

    + Set up, operate, and maintain machining equipment including CNC machining centers, manual mills, saws, presses, drills and other equipment.

    + Design and craft fixtures to improve machining center volume and productivity where appropriate

    + Proficient use of precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and tools

    + Other duties may be assigned.

    The Machine Operator II will perform all processing steps necessary for the flow of product through the Kiln work cell; ensure product quality and adherence to appropriate processing standards; assist and instruct other departmental employees as directed.

    This role is based at our facility in Tucson, AZ.

    You will have the opportunity to:

    + Comply with all PPE and job- or area-specific workplace safety requirements

    + Properly use lockout/tagout procedures

    + Test fire and check pressed parts, dye check parts to determine quality and make necessary adjustments

    + Work effectively with QC/QA personnel to improve output capability and quality

    + Competently operate all essential machines and/or equipment in the work cell

    + Help evaluate equipment tooling if necessary

    + Identify and actively participate in continuous improvements of safety, quality, and production

    + Maintain or exceed standard production rates

    + Monitor all kiln firing processes, intervene as needed to ensure superior firing results

    + Perform all required tasks at a high level of performance

    + Plan, schedule production employee training on using SAP for production

    + Safely and properly perform power checks, change glow bars as needed

    REQUIREMENTS:

    + Technical awareness, able to work with data analysis and problem-solving techniques

    + Must be flexible to work both afternoon & overnight shifts

    Job Summary

    The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating production equipment under immediate supervision in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. This role ensures KPS Global meets quality, safety, and efficiency standards and satisfies customer requirements.

    Major Responsibilities

    + Performing duties in accordance with current Quality Management System, Safety Management System, and KPS Global Code of Conduct requirements

    + Operating manual production machinery and equipment

    + Reading and interpreting job orders, diagrams, and/or blue prints to select, position, and secure machinery and materials

    + Loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials and product utilizing lifting equipment when available

    + Completing and maintaining all associated electronic processes and paperwork including bar-coding, checklists, stamping, blue prints, shipping/receiving documents, accessory lists, and scanning of materials

    + Performing pre-shift preventative maintenance

    + Maintaining departmental housekeeping and 5S standards

    Required Skills

    + Must be able to stand and walk on concrete up to 100% of the work day

    + Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch

    + Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs along and over 50 lbs with assistance

    + Must be able to climb and balance
