Valmont Industries is a leader in communications infrastructure solutions including towers, small cell and concealment products. The position of Fabricator will be responsible for the layout, assembly, and finish of architectural structures of various styles used in the telecom industry as concealment for wireless communication equipment. Aerospace Welder

Applies basic welding processes to join sheet metal aircraft components as specified by written instructions, weld schedules and drawings. Visually and dimensionally inspects completed work for conformance to verbal/written instruction and specifications. Works well as a team member and seeks clarification to refine welding techniques.

Functions and Responsibilities

+ Completes moderate to advanced fitting and welding tasks while applying standard practices

+ Properly prepares weld surfaces.

+ Interprets and follows written instructions, sketches, weld schedules, drawings and documents.

+ Performs all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.

+ Performs fitting of assemblies.

+ May train others on prior job experience.

+ Repairs some of his or her own parts.

+ Regularly evaluates his/her own product quality for continuous improvement.

+ Works under limited oversight.

+ Successfully complete the Exotic Metals TIG weld training program and/or have equivalent experience.

+ Hold multiple, basic Exotic Metals weld qualification/certifications, including Fillet Welding as required.

+ Meets or exceeds operations standards for efficiency.

+ Reads and understands router operations, sketches, blueprints, and specifications as necessary to perform the job function.

+ Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T); knows where to find this information at Exotic and asks for help when necessary.

+ Can move to various work areas easily with experience.

+ Must be able to use mathematics relevant to welding functions.

+ Requires familiarity with machine tools, precision instruments and good manual dexterity.

Working Condition

+ Use of protective clothing, goggles, helmets with protective lenses, and other equipment to prevent burns and eye injuries.

Physical Requirements

+ The welder performs physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and frequent movement of the whole body, such as climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, balancing and handling of material.

The base pay range for this position is $94,400-157,400. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on July 16, 2025.

What You'll Do:

Bend, cut, bundle and load reinforcing steel bars in accordance with customers orders. Youll work with a mentor who will train you on safely using all machinery

Your Responsibilities: Unload trailers and store material in storage bins. Operate a shearing machine or a power saw to cut reinforcing steel bars to specific lengths, and a bending machine to bend reinforcing steel bars to specified shape. Operate overhead crane to move, assemble and select material to be fabricated or shipped. Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping. Operate a spray gun in the application of epoxy touch up or reinforcing steel bars. Maintain the shop or designated area in a clean and safe manner.

Purpose:

To be a direct link between the Shop Supervisor and the shift team. The Lead Person assigns workload to complete daily fabrication needs and complies with all safety, quality, quantity, and shop housekeeping standards.

Your Responsibilities:

Must adhere to Nucor Rebar Fabrication safety programs and standards. Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication mission statement. Work with Branch Shop Manager in establishing daily work assignments to maximize shift operations. Oversee all processes, equipment, employees, safety, and shop housekeeping in meeting production quality and quantity standards on the shift. Help train new employees in the safe and efficient use of equipment to which they are assigned. Troubleshoot production problems so that delays are minimized, and equipment functions as safely and efficiently as possible. Oversee and/or assist with maintenance on all shop equipment and report any problems to Maintenance. Quality Control (QC) - Perform inspections of completed work for correct quantity, accurate fabrication, correctly tagged material, and timely shipment. Provide performance feedback to Shop Supervisor in support of merit program and/or disciplinary actions. Ensure that established policies, rules and regulations, and procedures are followed. Collect necessary data for production reports, time sheets, incentive calculations and other reports as required by management. Where appropriate, operate computer equipment. Perform various jobs such as operation of sheer, bender, crane, car puller, fork-lift operator, etc. so that shift work is done efficiently and on time. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. OSHA 30 certificate.

Preferences:

At least two years experience in a rebar shop or manufacturing setting or equivalent. Skilled in communication, supervision, and planning. Basic knowledge of business and industrial regulations.

What You Need To Know:

Extended hours may be required during peak production. Occasional travel may be necessary. Our typical work week is 50 hours. Must be able to work any shift. Some heavy lifting may be necessary Working conditions can be noisy, dusty, hot, cold.
