Production Manager - Fabrication

Primary Responsibilities:
+ Ensure the efficient management of the metal fabrication operations of a multiple shift facility.
+ Optimize efficiency, productivity, and equipment performance to meet objectives.
+ Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods. Suggest changes to working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
+ Develop capital equipment justification for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost and cycle times.
+ Responsible for meeting all quality standards, production schedules, and delivery requirements.
+ Identify barriers to meeting production goals and help develop and implement improvement plans.
+ Coordinate production related training including Operator Skills Training, Quality Management System training, and work with the Safety Coordinator to ensure all required safety training is completed on a timely basis.
+ Responsible for tracking data and meeting production metrics, as well as waste and efficiency percentages.
+ Act as a leader in terms of continuous improvement and change.
+ Ensure the product quality standards are met through inspections and material testing procedures.
+ Analyze data drawn from production reports to identify possible improvements, reduce losses and the number of breakdowns and improve efficiency.
+ Communicate, implement and apply company policies and procedures.
+ Other duties as deemed appropriate by Management to support the business plan.
Qualifications
+ 6 - 8+ years of experience in a related manufacturing production or operations management position. 4+ years of production supervisory experience in that environment.
+ Understanding of production processes and controls in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
+ Must have had prior hands-on experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
+ Must possess strong interpersonal skills to communicate with employees.
+ Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
+ Experiences in 5S, Lean and Kaizen would be a plus.
+ Proficient in Microsoft office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
+ Excellent proven leadership and change management skills.
+ Ability to quickly establish credibility to develop and maintain excellent business relations both internally and externally.
+ Mechanically inclined with excellent trouble shooting skills.

The Test Equipment Engineering Directorate (TEE) includes all the engineering disciplines responsible for systems design & test on all Raytheon products. Our engineers are responsible for all elements of the development lifecycle for test including test requirements, test system design, flight simulations, hardware-in-the-loop, computer-in-the-loop, advanced engineering prototyping technology, flight operations for manned and unmanned vehicles, environmental testing, environmental characterization and engineering laboratory management. The salary range for this role is 48,000 USD - 116,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Your Role:
As an Orbital Welder, you will perform orbital GTAW tube welding, assembly, and installation of mechanical components onto sheet metal plates and inside of sheet metal frames and enclosures on equipment manufactured by SEMC Semiconductor Equipment Manufacturing Center. You will also perform inspection and general tool maintenance and use a deionized water system with ultrasonic baths and a drying oven.
Cutting and bending stainless steel tubing
Parts cleaning
Mechanical finishing and labeling of systems during assembly
Checking raw materials and quantities against a bill of materials and arranging them according to a design drawing
Utilizing digital copies of instructions for completion of work
Physical Attributes:
Work in a cleanroom work environment and wear PPE such as a cleanroom hair cover, face cover, cleanroom smock with Latex or Nitrile gloves
Up to 6 hours of seated weld station work
Utilizing manual dexterity for placing work within the weld head
Straightening the welded piping spools by hand
Lift up to 50 lbs. and transfer that weight at waist height or knee height
Push/Pull 200lb metal boxes on wheels
Stand and kneel on ergonomic mats over concrete
Step up on one step, lean over a tilting lift table
Utilizing full range of motion with arms and legs
Working on computer screen for up to 8 hours per day
This is a 1st shift position that runs Monday-Friday from 6am-2:30pm.
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
6+ months experience in a manufacturing environment using mechanical and/or tooling skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Welding experience or welding certification
Post-secondary education (including vocational school) in a mechanical trade
Experience interpreting and following written and verbal work instructions, including mechanical and electrical schematics/drawings
Basic computer skills
Self-starting and motivated
Good written and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment while following safety and process controls
Ability to work with a team and independently

WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
+ Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
+ Set up components for welding according to specifications
+ Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
+ Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
+ Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
+ Maintain work area and equipment in a condition that does not compromise 5S initiative and safety
+ Perform other duties as assigned
WHAT WE SEEK
+ Proven experience as welder
+ In-Depth knowledge and understanding of TIG Welding Process.
+ Knowledge of Copper and Stainless-Steel material properties.
+ Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
+ Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
+ Deftness and attention to detail
+ Proficient in English, being bilingual will be a plus
+ Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
