The individual in this role will be committed to Belmark’s operating procedures to consistently produce high-quality products within standards for waste minimization and time efficiency. The position also offers opportunities for future advancement to an Electro-Mechanical Technician Level I.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible to follow all safety procedures as required by the role, and to nurture a food safety culture by adhering to all Safe Quality Foods requirements.
Perform all tasks following safety guidelines at all times.
Perform basic staging, change over and set ups of a job within a 3 month time frame.
Fully understand schedules, job information and basic calculations within a 3 month time frame.
Maintain a neat, clean and organized work area.
Understand basic color and ink handling procedures in a 3-month time frame.
Ability to complete all necessary paperwork and computer entries from the start to the end of any given job.
Perform planned maintenance on all company equipment according to the schedule outlined in the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
Complete routine maintenance inspections on various equipment to ensure proper operation.
Address shop-related maintenance needs promptly to ensure timely repairs or task completion.
Perform other duties as required by the Maintenance and Press Departments.

DESCRIPTION
The Print Production Operator provides city departments with high quality, timely, cost effective and value-added print, mail, and surplus property services. The Print Production Operator participates in the operation of the Print Shop to assist customers in achieving their print goals.. The position is responsible for determining the best method, equipment, materials, tools, and software solutions to complete a project.Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
• Manage print, mail and surplus property contracts for presort mail service, express package service, overflow printing services and surplus property services, this includes reviewing monthly billing costs, settlement of billing issues, and approval of monthly billings for payment issuance.
• Participate in budget preparation, administration and reporting; prepare cost estimates for budget recommendation; submit justifications for budget items; recommend expenditure requests for designed accounts; monitor and control expenditures and budget accounts.
• Assist customers and suppliers to develop purchases and specifications for procurement actions; order, monitor and maintain inventory, specialty substrates, materials and supplies.
• Operate high volume black & white and color digital production printers using industry standard printing software for job setting, digital color saturation, and successful execution of batch files turning digital files into paper output.
• Operate and maintain large format printer, cutter and laminator.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience:
Requires two (2) years of experience in print production, operation of computerized reprographic machines, mail center equipment and related equipment.
Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). The sum of an applicant’s full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.Education:
Requires the equivalent to an associate degree from an accredited college in Print Technology or degree related to the core functions of this position.
The term “equivalent” means that directly related work experience exceeding the required work experience will substitute in equal time increments for college-level education, for example: one year of additional directly related work experience will substitute for one year of college education (30 credit hours).
Certification, Licenses, and/or Registrations:
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Possession of or required to obtain within six (6) months of hire, a valid Arizona forklift operator's certificate.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
