    **Primary Duties/responsibilities:**

    + Extracts daily representative samples from the Water Treatment Plant, WasteWater Treatment Plant, Cooling Tower, and Incinerator Boilers. Labels jars, transport to the laboratory for analysis, and attaches identification number for oil and grease and TOC samples. Metals, phenols and COD samples go to EAS Lab (off site lab)

    + Performs numerous process control analyses including pH, temperature, turbidity, hardness, conductivity, chlorine, molybdate, phosphate, sulfite, and alkalinity. Completes and maintains numerous operating logs, records, and reports.

    + Completes inspection of all process equipment on a 4-hour basis. Replenishes water treatment chemical tanks, monitors equipment performance, adjusts operating parameters (level, blowdown, flow rates, metering pumps, etc.), and services equipment (clears lines, minor repairs, preventative maintenance).

    + Completes Daily Checklist on Water Treatment Plant Samples, WasteWater Treatment Plant samples, APDES samples, and totalizes water readings on APDES system and water meters.

    + Coordinates all APDES events including starting stationary and portable discharge pumps,and obtaining water samples.

    + Observes, instructs, and leads truck drivers and outside contractors to insure compliance with plant health, safety, and security rules.

    + Maintains inventory of critical spare parts, chemicals, and laboratory supplies; initiates requisitions for replacements.

    + Participates in training programs. Assists in training other employees and in writing and updating SDPs and safety review procedures. Attends schools as necessary to maintain current required license.
