The Role
Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a CNC Machinist to work out of its brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Mesa.
The key responsibilities of this CNC Machinist include, but are not limited to:
+ Is knowledgeable in CNC machining and secondary equipment
+ Assists Production Supervisors with all aspects of KPI requirements (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Cost)
+ Active participant and advocate of Lean & 5S culture company wide
+ Follows "in-process" quality inspections and works with team members to ensure total quality
+ Aids in feedback to planning & engineering to optimize productivity
+ Provides translation service for team members when required
+ Ensure usage of correct gaging, hand measuring tools & metrology equipment to deliver the highest possible quality components for our customers
+ Support preventative maintenance of equipment and report machine issues to production supervisor

The key skills and qualities of a CNC Machinist at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:
+ Minimum 2 years of lathe production experience on CNC & related production equipment

Job Summary:
The Test Environments, Fabrication Lead Tech will work in the mechanical fabrication shop, executing a variety of mechanical fabrication efforts at an exceptional quality level, while collaborating in a dynamic, fast-paced, integrated team environment. The position interacts daily with fellow support technicians and engineers, to successfully meet the prototype and test manufacturing needs of our internal and external engineering customers.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Quick-turn machining of critical prototype, aerospace parts and test assemblies from metal and non-metal materials utilizing precision manual mills and lathes.
+ Use of general machine shop tools and support equipment including the use of typical dimensional measuring tools.
+ Work with basic sketches and, underdeveloped drawing packages as well as model renderings.
+ Responsible for all aspects of fabrication including part/machine setup, safe equipment operation, part inspection, managing their workload, supporting customers’ schedules, delegating, and coordinating work when required.
+ Work in a multi-program-controlled area.
+ Report to the Mechanical Prototyping and Fabrication Section Lead within the Engineering Prototyping and Fabrication department (the Bike Shop).
+ Ability to obtain and maintain access as required by programs.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
+ Eight (8) or more years of experience interpreting mechanical blueprints and/or technical drawings.
+ Eight (8) or more years of direct mechanical machining experience
+ A minimum of Eight (8) or more years of experience in the use of precision mechanical machine shop tools
+ Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

With direct guidance in a team environment, responsible for operating one or more CNC production machines working from blueprints, sketches and route sheets.
+ Perform repetitive machine operations (including reworking parts) such as milling, turning, facing and deburring. Make minor adjustments and report improper machine functioning or cutting action for correction.
+ Align and fasten parts using standard fixtures where established methods are followed.
+ Visually inspect parts for burrs and damaged machine surfaces.
+ Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks cracks or other irregularities from machined parts.

Position Summary
With direct guidance in a team environment, responsible for operating one or more production machines working from blueprints, sketches and route sheets.
Responsibilities
+ Make simple setups and perform repetitive machine operations (including reworking parts) such as cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, reaming and smoothing parts. Make minor adjustments and report improper machine functioning or cutting action for correction.
+ Align and fasten parts using standard fixtures where established methods are followed.
+ Set feeds, speeds and depth of cut to machine quality parts.
+ Perform operations such as reaming, tapping, spot-facing, chamfering, countersinking, and counterboring.
+ Visually inspect parts for burrs and damaged machine surfaces.
+ Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks cracks or other irregularities from machined parts.
+ Inspect parts for conformance to specifications by visual examination and the use of gages or other measuring instruments.
+ Accurately and regularly perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) requirements.
+ Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
+ Perform other related responsibilities.
Qualifications
+ HS diploma or equivalent.
+ Minimum 4-7 years general or related machine shop experience
+ Manual Lathe experience
+ Must demonstrate manual dexterity.
+ Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
+ Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics.
+ Must demonstrate effective English verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
+ Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
