Job Purpose
Create 3, 4, and 5 axis programs (from Customer drawings and CAD files) for CNC mills and lathes, using CAM software, while meeting MCAM quality requirements. Continue to promote KAITEKI values creating and maintaining a positive work environment, which is conducive to a stable, growing and continually improving workforce. Ensure a safe workplace, efficient production processes, minimization of downtime, as well as a clean and orderly production area.
Principal Accountabilities
• Develop programs for CNC mills and lathes, maximizing quality and output
• Write programs for 3, 4, and 5 axis machining centers including complex surfaces
• Write 3, 4, and 5 axis programs with Horizontal & 5th axis pallet changers and Robotics Programming is a plus.
• Create user friendly programs for minimally skilled operators, with focus on ease of use
• Troubleshoot and edit programs at machines as required
• Provide tooling and fixturing recommendations as applicable
• Maintain electronic files for all programs
• Continually works to improve and optimize programs
• Creates PO requisitions to order material, cutters, tooling, etc. for new jobs
• Create documentation necessary to manufacture parts
• Stays current with the latest technology and software upgrades
• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, vendors and customers.

Job Purpose

**Key Responsibilities**
+ Can safely operate all machines in the shop performing very complex operations in producing prototype parts, production parts, modifications and repairs to existing parts and assemblies, and/or fabricating parts from steels, stainless steels, aluminum, plastics and other non-metals.
+ Supports in-house customers, such as manufacturing, engineering, business units, direct/indirect materials, and facilities. Portrays a customer service approach. Interfaces effectively and courteously with customers.
+ Utilizes Work Orders, blueprints, sketches, written and verbal instructions to determine machining process, procedures, tooling and fixtures requirements.
+ Performs a variety of machining and/or assembly tasks utilizing standard machine shop equipment, such as surface grinders, drill presses, grinders, sanders, band saws, rotary table, and/or standard band and power tools.
+ Plans and performs very complex machine set-ups. Possesses an advanced working knowledge of trigonometry, which is required to accurately calculate angles used in set-ups and machining. Makes full use of machine capacity to minimize amount of machining or number of set-ups required to product parts competitively.
+ Performs machining operations, such as milling, turning, facing, boring, chasing single and multiple external and internal threads, drilling, grooving, reaming and chamfering. Monitor machines and verify that part dimensions conform to specifications.
+ Performs visual and dimensional inspections to verify compliance with specifications. Uses calipers, micrometers, gauges, indicators, and other inspection tools. Performs rework as necessary.

The Role
Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking aSwiss CNC Machinist 2nd Shift to work out of its brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Mesa.
The key responsibilities of thisSwiss CNC Machinist 2nd Shift include, but are not limited to:
+ Is knowledgeable in Screw / Swiss / Sliding headstock CNC machining and secondary equipment
+ Assists Production Supervisors with all aspects of KPI requirements. (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Cost)
+ Active participant and advocate of Lean and 5S culture company wide
+ Follows "in-process" quality inspections and works with team members to ensure total quality
+ Aids in feedback to planning and engineering to optimize productivity
+ Provides translation service for team members when required
+ Ensure usage of correct gauging, hand measuring tools & metrology equipment to deliver the highest possible quality components for our customers
+ Read and understand job layouts, blueprints, schematics and work from written and verbal job instructions on operations

The Person
The key skills and qualities of aSwiss CNC Machinist 2nd Shift at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:
+ Minimum 2 years of lathe production experience on CNC and related production equipment
+ Cam style Escomatic, Tornos – Bechler experience is a plus as well as multispindle machining
+ Familiar with batch heat treating, and annealing special alloys as well as Nadcap Certification is preferred
+ Strict time management with self and other employees to support a productive work environment. This includes providing hourly production stats to shift supervisor and implementing quick corrective actions to help team members reach their goals

Introduction:
We are seeking a Shop Machinist to join our Repair Center team on the 2nd Shift. You will be responsible for operating machines to ensure all parts and products meet quality standards through precise measurements and inspections. In this position, you will report to the Repair Production Manager.
This position is located in Mesa, AZ and will have little to no travel involved, however, may involve up to 5% of travel.
What you'll do:
• Work in collaboration with Repair Production Manager and Repair Center Leads to ensure projects are tracked for completion.
• Keep Repair Center Lead apprised of assembly status and escalate issues.
• Operate and maintain CNC/Manual machines, lathes, mills, and other heavy equipment.
• Determine and establish methods and working processes for the most specialized and complex jobs.
• Control the quality of all work done and effectively communicate with QA/QC Personnel.
• Formulate all working procedures used for optimizing the quality of work and efficiency. Consult with fellow employees, contractors, and consultants to resolve maintenance issues and develop ways to improve equipment utilization and efficiency.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery.
• Perform minor and major repair of projects received at the Repair Center to include all facets of large and small mining machinery.
• Maintain equipment to ensure the best reliability and performance.
• Completes required work and safety reports.
• Perform other tasks as directed.
Who you are:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience as a Machinist in the heavy equipment, manufacturing, or mining industry.
• Prior repair experience with mining process equipment would be ideal
• Ability to assess situations and problems, ability to detect technical discrepancies.
• Observes safety regulations and exhibits a high concern for safety.
• Must have knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, use, repair, and maintenance; knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, pi tapes, scales, etc. proficiently.
• Understand the mechanics of precision bearings, bushings, gearing as well as heating and cooling of components for disassembly and assembly of work.
