JOB SUMMARY
All drivers run daily routes with frequent stops and are required to load packages onto hand trucks and unload product at each stop on the assigned route in the order they are designated by the Transportation Department Manager. The candidate will operate successfully in a cross-dock model picking up a loaded truck from a nightly delivery at the assigned loading dock and return the empty truck back to the assigned lot at the end of the route. May be required to assist occasionally with loading-trucks, palletizing product, and performing other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Provide technical, customer relations, and personnel management for major programs and projects.
+ Runs routes efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated route times
+ Unload product from trailer, by hand or using a hand cart, and place in designated customer storage areas. May include transporting product down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions.
+ Frequently lift, push, or move product that weighs 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds; frequently reach up to 72" to stack and unstack pallets and hand cart; constantly bend and twist while loading and unloading product, and retrieving items from trailer.
+ Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures.
+ Contact management for authorization when discrepancies are on invoices. Communicate all errors/returns.
+ Calls in when a customer does not receive their entire order (shorts)
+ Handles any customer complaints professionally
+ Handles company equipment properly, follow written driver safety rules, and performs a pre-trip inspection.
+ Perform pre-trip and post-trip responsibilities in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Sysco policies and procedures

Education
+ Degrees/Certificates Minimum Required:

As a Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a collection truck while driving through neighborhoods and communities across the country. **What you will do:**
+ Safely operate a collection truck to collect waste and/or recycling along a designated route and transfer to a disposal site.
+ Work closely with Dispatch, your Supervisor, and the rest of the driver team to service our customers on different routes and schedules.
+ Load/unload waste and/or recycling materials at landfills, recycling centers, or similar facilities.
+ Perform pre- and post-trip inspection of your vehicle to ensure truck is in proper working order and address maintenance issues quickly.
+ Follow all required safety policies and report any safety or employee experience issues to leadership.
**What you will need to be successful:**
+ Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s license with air brakes endorsement (REQUIRED).
+ Ability to read a map and/or use navigational devices.
+ Ability to work early mornings, nights, some holidays, and weekends.
+ Good time management skills to ensure assigned routes are completed efficiently and safely.
+ Flexibility to adapt to changes as needed.
+ Good problem-solving skills to address unexpected issues.

**Position Summary**
Delivers precast concrete products to customers or internally from branch to branch in a safe and timely manner based on a pre-determined schedule.
**Principle Accountabilities**
+ Demonstrates willingness to take direction and follows instructions.
+ Understands and is fully aware of all DOT guidelines and adheres to such regulations; maintains logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status following applicable state and federal regulations; checks all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate; immediately reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
+ Advises supervisor of any issues after pre-trip inspections are completed; communicates with dispatch as needed during the course of the day.
+ Maintains a clean, organized, safe work area at all times and utilizes proper safety equipment.
+ Ensures proper customer service by reviewing and comparing invoice to what product is loaded; collects delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions, and requested routes/drop off location; reads and interpret maps in order to determine vehicle routes; drives trucks to weigh stations before and after loading and along routes, in order to document weights and to comply with state regulations; obtains receipts or signatures when loads are delivered to customers.
+ Transports products from one location to another location abiding by road rules and ensuring safety on the road; secures loads by utilizing chains, binders, straps, slings, etc.; ensures that proper tie down technique is used to safeguard product and ensure road safety; ensures that truck and products do not exceed the maximum weight limits for transport.

The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated maintenance experience. Other desired qualifications include but are not limited to:
