As a Research Scientist in Intel AI Lab, you will develop machine learning and optimization techniques to solve problems impacting semiconductor design and manufacturing. You will publish your findings, establish benchmarks, build open-source tools, and facilitate technology transfers.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

+ PHD with 1+ years of research experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or STEM-related field.

+ 1+ years of experience and solid background in modern machine learning architectures: Transformers, Graph Neural Networks, Diffusion models, etc.

+ 1+ years of experience and solid coding skills in Python and C++.

+ 1+ years of experience and solid experience with machine learning frameworks like PyTorch.

**Summary:**

Meta is seeking a Research Scientist to join our new Large Language Model (LLM) Research team. We are looking for recognized experts in generative AI and NLP, with experience in areas like language model evaluation; data processing for pretraining and fine-tuning; responsible LLMs; LLM alignment; reinforcement learning for language model tuning; efficient training and inference; and/or multilingual and multimodal modeling. The ideal candidate will have an interest in producing and applying new science to help us develop and deploy large language models.

The Research Scientist will be responsible for developing new products and solutions in the field of hydrometallurgy, with a focus on solvent extraction processes for the recovery of metals from aqueous solutions.

Essential Functions:
35% - Data extraction, preparation and visualization – Create and update interactive data views and dashboards using Tableau, Tableau Prep, and complex SQL queries to pull data from multiple relational databases, including the data lake, data warehouses, and other data sources for use by committees, departments, and leaders to inform decision-making. Coordinates with system-level teams on reports/data collection.
25% - Data analysis and reporting – Routinely performs complex, high visible and potentially sensitive research and analysis. 25% - Consulting and decision support – Serves as a subject-matter expert by providing professional-level staff support, consultation and assistance to college committees, advisory groups, departments or leaders which may include performing research, authoring documents, making presentations and providing technical assistance. Serve on and support efforts of college committees, task forces, and work groups. Anticipate data and decision support needs of college stakeholders. Performs work to support and advance the mission of the college.
15% - Designs, conducts, and analyzes data from surveys and focus groups. Create data visualizations to share survey and focus group results. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in business statistics, educational studies, business administration or directly related field and four (4) full-time equivalent years of professional-level experience in research and analysis that includes responsibility for coordinating projects and programs. Two years of senior-level or lead experience may be required for some assignments.

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications:

The objective of this role is to (1) author HBEL documents and execute worker safety testing supporting the safe occupational use of our compounds/products in terms of worker exposure (2) contribute to characterizing the risk associated with environmental exposure through manufacturing, discharge, and use of our compounds/products via ERA assessments and/or PiE efforts (3) authoring toxicological risk assessments supporting product quality from impurities, contaminants, extractables/leachables, and excipients.

+ Author toxicology risk assessments for impurities, extractables and leachables, contaminants, excipients, and in silico mutagenicity assessments for drug manufacturing functions

+ Execute Environmental Risk Assessments or worker safety studies to support regulatory filings and corporate EHS with guidance from senior team members

+ Scientific knowledge in toxicology and pharmacology.
