Hourly pay rate: $16.22 - $23.92
Qualifications
Must meet one of the following combinations of Education and Experience:
+ One (1) year of full-time experience as a Mental Health Worker in the Valleywise Health Department of Psychiatry of at least above average performance level; OR
+ Two (2) years of full-time behavioral health work experience; OR
+ Any associate degree and 15 months of full-time behavioral health work experience; OR
+ 18 credit hours of post-high school education in a field related to behavioral health and 18 months of full-time behavioral health work experience; OR
+ Any other bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of full-time behavioral health work experience; OR
+ A bachelor’s degree in a field related to Behavioral Health.
Experience:
+ Acceptable behavioral health work experience includes providing direct services (counseling, monitoring, conducting recreational activities, transporting etc.) to individuals with a mental disorder, personality disorder or substance use problem gained in a behavioral health, medical, educational or correctional work environment.
+ Prefer a minimum of at least one to two (1-2) years of behavioral health experience as outlined above.
Specialized Training:
+ Must have Crisis Prevention Intervention Training and if in adult emergency of position start date.
+ Adult ED: Must have Escaping Violent Encounters (EVE) training within three (3) months of position start date.
Certification/Licensure:

As a Behavioral Health Technician you will provide direct patient care to patients under the supervision of the Registered Nurse while maintaining a safe and efficient working and treatment environment. Your ability to collaborate effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to ensure safe, quality patient care will be essential to success.

* Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, provides direct patient care to patients as assigned.
* Carry out all aspects of patient care and other assignments as directed by the Charge Nurse.
* Observe whether specialized services may be needed and communicate to the Charge Nurse/RN.
* Perform ongoing observation of the patients and milieu to ensure active treatment is provided and patients are participating.
* Respond appropriately and timely to patient requests.
* Report changes in patient's condition or behavior to the Charge Nurse/RN, including agitation, high-risk behaviors, changes in vital signs, and eating, sleeping, and toileting patterns
* Intervene appropriately with patients experiencing a behavioral crisis situation
* Provide support and direct assistance to patients who are unable to attend to their activities of daily living by assisting them with meals, daily grooming, ambulation and toileting as needed.
* Report factors that may impede successful accomplishment of the treatment plan to the Charge Nurse/RN.
* Provide patient educational information for identified learning needs.
* Facilitate educational/activity groups as assigned or when indicated using approved materials. Recommend alternative activities based on patient functioning level and treatment plan.
* Monitor vital signs such as heart rate and blood pressureQualifications

Position Summary: The Behavioral Health Technician 1 (BHT) for Bridging the Gap – Re-Entry program provides direct care services: intakes, assessments, and coordinates linkages into necessary community services and connections to providers. The BHT 1 coordinates member referrals, provides case management services as needed, completes tasks that require serving the members who are enrolled in the Bridging the Gap Re-Entry /TIP Justice program; liaises with other Program staff, Program Supervisor, Director and medical records staff. The BHT 1 delivers health and wellness and recovery-oriented services to members. The BHT 1 participates in vital program evaluation procedures and is responsible for accurate and professional record keeping in required database platforms.
Behavioral Health Technician Duties Include:
+ Responsible for direct face to face community-based services to assist client’s re-entering into the community from jail and prison. Ensures linkage into community services and resources.
+ Offers in-reach into jail, prison, sober living housing and treatment programs for the purpose of engaging member into BTG Re-Entry / TIP services. Orients potential clients to the BTG Re-Entry/TIP program.
+ Provides transportation for members as appropriate and as medically necessary, and determined by the Re-Entry/ TIP team, in personal vehicle or in Terros Health provided vehicle, when available.
+ Ensures ongoing collaboration, including the communication of appropriate clinical information with other involved parties as appropriate. Coordinates care with a member’s family, behavioral and general medical providers, community resources, and other involved supports. Assists members with connection to physical health services, including Primary Care services and medical appointment follow up.

Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or GED, as well as a combination of behavioral health education and work experience totaling a minimum of Three (3) years or
+ Associate degree in behavioral health plus two (2) years of work experience in a behavioral health setting or
+ Bachelor's degree in any field, plus one year of work experience in behavioral health service delivery or
+ Bachelor's degree in social service or related field.
+ Customer service skills, excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Ability to work independently, with flexibility, and within prescribed deadlines.
+ Proficiency with computer-based systems including electronic health records, Microsoft Outlook, and other Microsoft Office products.
+ Must have valid Arizona driver’s license, be 21 years of age with minimum 4 years driving experience, and meet requirements of Terros Health’s driving policy.
+ Must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card or apply for an Arizona fingerprint clearance card (Level 1) within 7 working days of assuming role.
+ Must pass a TB Test.
