    Summary These positions are located in Grand Canyon National Park, in the Visitor and Resource Protection Division. Responsibilities Major Duties: Coordinate initial emergency response, evaluating incidents, soliciting all necessary information, and applying judgment according to interagency guides, protocols and pre-plans. Receive and evaluate emergency calls, soliciting information to initiate an appropriate response of emergency services personnel, acquiring critical information (law enforcement, fire, medical search and rescue, etc.) from the public and other public safety agencies. Use a variety of specialized computer programs such as NCIC (National Criminal Information Center), NLETS (National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System), and CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) in the performance of dispatch duties. Dispatchers may perform multi-jurisdictional all-risk incidents (law enforcement, wildland fire, structural fire, aviation, intelligence, medical, search and rescue, and other emergency services), and/or serve at an inter- agency level (collaborate with federal, state, county, and local agencies). At the GS-7 and GS-8 grade levels, employees will serve as the senior dispatcher on staff, providing orientation, training, and leadership for lower graded or new dispatchers. At this level, dispatchers are expected to be able to troubleshoot issues and contribute to more efficient operations by reviewing and making recommendations for improvement of operating procedures. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level. Area Information: This position is stationed at Grand Canyon National Park at the South Rim located in Northern Arizona. The South Rim is located approximately 60 miles north of Williams and 82 miles Northwest of Flagstaff at an elevation of 7,000 feet. Temperatures range from approximately 90 degrees in the summer to 0 degrees in the winter. Annual precipitation averages around 13 inches. Grand Canyon Village has schools K-12, a daycare center, post office, general store, churches, a recreation center with gym, a public library, a clinic with resident physicians, and several restaurants. The park community consists of some 2,500 people, including employees of the NPS and concessionaires and their family members. There are often employment opportunities for family members in the park and surrounding areas. The park community is small enough that many employees choose to walk or bike from their homes to work. Complete shopping, educational, medical and professional services are available in Williams and Flagstaff. Flagstaff has a population of about 75,000 and has multiple K-12 public and private schools, Northern Arizona University, and diverse community, medical and other support services. Recreational opportunities include hiking, backpacking, fishing, cross-country and downhill skiing, and golfing in nearby communities. South Rim Housing: Permanent and Term employees with a Full Performance Level (FPL) of a GS-09 or WG-8 and above will be provided the option of accepting assigned housing, participating in the normal bid system, or accepting shared housing. Permanent and Term employees with an FPL of GS-08 or WG-7 and below may be provided the option of participating in the normal bid system or accepting shared housing. Any employee assigned to shared housing may continue to bid into non-shared housing. Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship required.     **Overview**

    The O&M Dispatcher is key to ensuring company resources (technicians and equipment) are maximized and customer’s issues are resolved as quickly as possible. We are actively monitoring our customer’s solar systems, and the dispatcher is responsible for making contact with customers to get the needed service appointment scheduled. For other positions with Transit Securty Guards, Driving Positions: must possess a valid Driver’s License with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record (no major violations within last 36 months, no more than 1 accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months), a minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle required.

    Display exceptional customer service and communication skills

    Have intermediate to advanced computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites

    Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently

    **Able to:**

    Work in an indoor setting with constant sitting and looking at cameras and computer monitors

    Ability to multi-task with multiple monitor computer systems and multi-line telephone systems

    Ability to work all shifts involved with working in a dispatch setting monitoring cameras 24/7/365

    Regularly work in a dark and sometimes loud environment

    Regularly communicate with law enforcement and emergency medical departments over telephone and mobile 2-way radios

    Work overtime as assigned until all schedules are filled

    **The ideal candidate with possess:**

    **Previous dispatch experience in a transit dispatch environment**

    **Previous law enforcement/emergency medical dispatch experience**

    **Intermediate typing proficiency of 30+ WPM**

    **Familiarity with Windows operating systems as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access)**

    **Knowledge of file systems related to the ripping and buring of video from server sites through burning software**
