• Interprets customer requirements from blueprints, complex drawings, engineering specifications, quality directives, charts, tables, sketches, and verbal instructions.

• Implements manufacturing methods using standard production machines, materials, and tooling.
• Develops and defines processes with limited documentation, as required.
• Troubleshoots and resolves machining problems.
• Responsible for machining and checking parts to maintain a high level of quality and efficiency.

Job Purpose
Continue to promote KAITEKI values creating and maintaining a positive work environment, which is conducive to a stable, growing and continually improving workforce. Ensure a safe workplace, efficient production processes, minimization of downtime, as well as a clean and orderly production area.
Principal Accountabilities
+ Use data collection in ERP system to log time.
+ Read work order, flow sheets and part drawing to determine all aspects of the job to be manufactured.
+ Load and verify tools and fixtures
+ Pull material from the staging area for specific job and verified correct to the WOPAC.
+ Upload and download programs to machine from programmer.
+ Check, using manual inspection equipment, blueprint dimensions.
+ Turn in first article and final inspection to Quality Assurance to verify dimensions and dimensions that were unable to be checked manually.
+ Run all parts required for the order.
+ Do in process inspections during the production run.
+ Keep work area and machine clean.
+ Perform daily and monthly machine preventative maintenance.
+ Communicate with programmer to ensure successful completion of the production job.
+ Make fixtures.
+ Make edits to programs when required.
+ Understanding of CNC machine operation programming

+ Use of ERP software
+ 5 years of experience of CNC Machining, blueprint reading, and editing and writing programs
+ Basic math skills, trigonometry knowledge preferred

**Key Responsibilities**
Can safely operate most of the major shop tools (CNC Router, Laser, Water Jet, Sheet Metal Brake, Teflon Press, Manual Mill, Manual Lathe, Fork Lift, and Cranes) performing basic operations in producing prototype parts, production parts, modifications and repairs to existing parts and assemblies.
Supports in-house customers, such as manufacturing, engineering, business units. Portrays a customer service approach. Interfaces effectively and courteously with customers and co-workers.
Utilizes Work Orders, blueprints, sketches, written and verbal instructions to determine machining process, procedures, tooling and fixtures requirements.
Performs a variety of machining and/or assembly tasks utilizing standard machine shop equipment, such as surface grinders, drill presses, grinders, sanders, band saws, routers, and/or standard power tools.
Plans and performs complex machine set-ups. Possesses a good working knowledge of trigonometry, which is required to accurately calculate angles used in set-ups and machining. Makes full use of machine capacity to minimize amount of machining or number of set-ups required to product parts competitively.
Can nest parts to maximize material efficiency reducing waste.

Maintains cleanliness of the work area and ensures proper handling of tools, equipment, and stock to prevent loss. Conforms to departmental safety requirements.
**Other Requirements:** This is a very physically demanding position that often requires standing for extended periods of time, walking, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, lifting, the ability to distinguish between colors, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, the use of hand and power tools, and driving or operating heavy machinery including forklifts.
